Happy Monday Memorial Day......

This was the class Lisa Waring from Full Moon Wares taught at Glitter Retreat..........Spun Cotton swallows.........this is one medium I have never tried.........you have to be super patient and super careful on how you apply this thin spun cotton onto the piece of cardstock for the wings and tail and the forms for the base of the bird....several layers to get the surface semi smooth.....Lisa is a wonderful and patient teacher and I so enjoyed meeting Lisa and finally taking one of her wonderful classes......If you ever have a chance to do so you won't regret it.....Thank You Lisa.........she has a website to purchase her one of a kind spun cotton magic.....Full Moon Wares....check it out!

 

Last but not forgotten is my trusty sweet friend and helper extraordinaire Susan........I would not be able to do what I do without her always willing to drop her busy schedule to help me.....we have done this a long time and we know what each other is thinking at all times and it's like clock work......she makes my crazy going ons a lot more fun and everyone loves her wherever we go....Thanks SuzyQ for all you do and hopefully we have a lot more crazy fun times ahead..............( how do you like the set of keys in my pocket...........really!!!!!!!)

I think I have covered all of the hopefully high lights of Glitter Market and retreat........Thank You to all who attended and hope our paths cross again ........

Yesterday I spent a few hours to finish my Noodle and Lou project........so much fun and I love to finish what I started.........thanks Jenn for creating such whimsical projects...your the best!!!!

This sweet Rebecca all the way from Alabama was one of our tablemates along with Julie and Lori...........one of the most sweet spirited, loving and caring soul you will ever meet.....with a POSITIVE attitude .............thank you Rebecca for choosing to sit by us.......we loved every minute! 

 

Susan and I so enjoyed these 2 cousins...... listening to us and being the most fun tablemates....they might not of thought it was fun but we sure did........thank you Lori and Julie for putting up with us.....hope we can sit by each other again......

 

Not everyone finished their dogs but hopefully in the near future if they send me photos I will definitely post them because they all did an unbelievable job....the longest and hardest part of the project was figuring out what quilt scraps and colors to make the dogs spots.......everyone was so patient and creative to cut out each piece and stitch them on....thank you girls for working so hard to get them just right ..........GOOD JOB......below is their kit alng with their name tags and a. little quilted pouch with a pair of embroidery scissors ........

I saved the best for last and most important photo of all........if it wasn't for this gal none of this would be possible........the friendships and fun would not be possible if it wasn't for her love and dedication to this community of creative souls.........need i say more but THANK YOU CINDY for ALL of your attention to these retreats/classes and gathering us all together.............you are one of a kind.......we love you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!  Like I have aways told you....you are the best boss EVER!!!!!!!!!

Our first day class was with Full Moon Ware Lisa Waring spun cotton expert...............I have never tried to do spun cotton and you have to be patient to do this project.....and let me tell you Lisa is one of the most patient teachers I have ever been around.......she is definitely one of a kind in her art.....she is also a great roommate.....Susan and I loved sharing a few days with this sweet gal.......We made these spun cotton swallows........mine isn't finished yet but  hope to finish this weekend......Thank You Lisa all the way from Philadelphia.........

 

Day 2 was with the one and only Noodle and Lou Jenn McGlon.......do I need to say more about this very talented artist that can do just about anything creative......we all loved this project and hope to finish mine today..........paper clay swan shadow box..........

Angie Myers was our run to girl all week..if we needed something she was on it...she kept us all going .........Thanks Angie for all your hard work......

For those of you who attended classes in OKC at the Paper Crown when Cindy was here you might not recognize this handsome young man below........this is Cindy's youngest son Em ........we were lucky to watch him grow up from elementary school until he graduated from high school.......he now is a graduate of Baylor University as of 2 weeks ago.....so proud of you Em and wish you blessings for your future ahead.......I even got a hug! Thanks Em for stopping in to say Hi........

I don't want to bore you with a long post so I will be back tomorrow for some more smiling faces and the last class of the retreat................

fun times in Waco.........

 

English Countryside was the theme of this years Paper Crown Glitter Retreat........starting with the massive large window display  designed by one of Paper Crowns most talented  teachers Angie Myers......these Staffordshire Dogs set the pace for our theme.......

 

 

First off before Retreat started we had the annual Paper Crown Glitter Market........Cindy has always found time to set a special time every year to get talented creative people to be vendors at this fun Art Market.........always so many talented artist come from all over to sell their goodies...I think she said it was the 15th year to do this.....we started this tradition when she had her store in Oklahoma City and now in Waco, Texas..........I did not get photos because I was in my booth.........I know Cindy has some on the Paper Crown instagram so go check those out......

busy weekend and busy week ahead...........

 

What a fun and memorable weekend........it went by all too fast but I promise I will have more photos soon.......my 50 year Golden Grad weekend at SNU.......plus Mother's Day.....anyway.....hope you all enjoyed the weekend as much as I did........I don't know how much I will blog this week getting ready for the big upcoming Paper Crown Glitter Market and Retreat for next weekend and week but hope I see some of you in Waco.......

 

The photo above is my roommate in college.....we are still dear friends and she lives close by........we even worked at the SNU bookstore together for a while and she is still working there!

On another note this weekend is also  my 50 year college graduation and they are having a Golden Grad reunion for the next couple of days......and tomorrow for the graduation 2024 class we will be walking in with them in our robes........I can't even believe it's been 50 years........maybe I will have a few photos to share next week.......enjoy whatever you have going on......

Every May 1 my dear friend has left me a sweet may day basket on our front porch for 23 years.............she has never forgotten our anniversary, our birthdays , any holiday with cards and gifts....she is a treasure to have as a dear friend...........Thank You Jill for always remembering and being so generous and thoughtful........everyone needs a Jill!

 

Also on my worktables ( everywhere there is a flat surface)  am starting to get the kits all finished up for Retreat........I am just about finished but have a few things to come in the mail to get them all sealed up and ready.........

The next few days will be spent tagging and pricing everything.........and this job is not the most fun for me.....I would rather be making things than putting prices on things......not something that most people who sell their good like to do.....oh well I better get busy if I want to be ready to see you all in a couple of weeks............
