Jenn has gone and done it once again.......check out this Swan shadow box for her Glitter Retreat project.....how cute is this.......wow!! Lisa Waring of Full Moon Wares will be teaching one of the projects for the upcoming Spring Glitter retreat........I am so excited to finally meet and take a class from this talented artist.....I have never tried any spun cotton projects but looking forward to it from one of the best teachers around........

Well we finally got the Woodie back this week and we are so excited after 2 years of restoration.........

we could not be any happier with the way it has turned out........the first thing we did was new interior.......plus we had to find some new seats because they were trashed....Tom found some at the salvage yard and they fit perfect plus they are electric seats......the upholstery guy did an amazing job....the color of leather we wanted to match the wood on the outside.....pretty close match... think the car was at the upholstery shop for 3-4 months........then we had all new windows put in and had to ordered and it took forever but that was about another 4-5 months......then the hardest thing on the entire car was finding someone who would tackle the body work... (one of the shops in Guthrie told us they would put us on the books for October 2024 and that was in September 2023.).........even though the body wasn't to bad it still needed help especially on the front passengers side as you see by this photo above......anyway after going from shop to shop over about 3-4 months we finally settled on the one we originally wanted in the first place....... he was so busy he told us about a year ago it would be a while......but one day Tom just stopped by and asked if he was interested and he said if you will bring it in the morning we will get started....he did and that was in August.....the wait was worth it.......we also made a trip to Fort Worth to have all the chrome rechromed....to say the least it takes a lonnnnnnnng time to restore an old car.. thank goodness the engine was in perfect condition so we lucked out of that.....and what about all the beautiful wood on the inside roof........its so beautiful and in perfect condition.......its not a show car by any means but its a great one to take a ride in....we will be adding air conditioning next so we can take it out in the summer months.....anyway thought y'all would like to see what has become of the ole navy blue woodie......
not a good photo since I took it from inside but he is already working on the wood and having fun just tinkering with it on these 70 plus degree days......

Okay so I am on a shrink roll right now and have had a lot of new ideas ....as you can see these are mini albums and a couple of them are about 2 1/2 by 3 "...and they vary because after they shrink they end up different sizes.....I love the images of these little people.........anyway this is what is on my worktable at the moment and I am enjoying these tiny mini images....
by the way the cake was not good.......I will not be making it again .....oh well..have a good day!
I wanted to make a special dessert this year and decided on this White Velvet Cake.....so everything was going great until the frosting.......you have to bring the sugar, milk and flour to a boil and let it cool...then you add to the soften butter and beat.......well it was so runny that I had frosting all over the place and me.........you can see it was even dripping on the floor.......in fact you can see the ruffle under the cake is a doily that is thick frosting that dried.....this cake better be good is all I can say........I will report after tonight!

You all know how much I love shrink plastic........ I love trying different ways to use then in projects........fun just to see what you can come up with....so here is what I came up....I have a couple more things I am working on and if they are worth showing you I will take photos and post them this week.....have a good week and day........
we all woke up to a blanket of snow outside this morning.......its already melting off....thank goodness.............
several months ago I ordered some of these sweet faces from one of my favorite co. paper whimsy........through the years i have used many of these beautiful faces on projects or classes I have taught at the paper crown when it was in okc......I had forgotten about these and put them away until I was cleaning my room after the holidays and discovered them and knew I wanted to start using them in some projects....this is the first of hopefully many to come......
and then you have these fun shrinking heads and bodies that I have had fun putting together........you know me and shrink plastic......so much you can do with heads, bodies , legs and all kinds
of add ons........its been a while since I have had out my shrink but it's always a welcome fun thing to do and see what comes of this wonderful plastic........

I made a roll up book for my mom for Christmas with photos of the past year and what all she had done....on the front it was a photo of her on her 93rd birthday and it said in the caption "93 in 2023".............she liked it so much I thought I might make one with random photos and MAYBE this summer do an all day class or a two day class on this fabric roll up book......we will see! This is what has been in my lap in the evenings........its a lot of hand stitching with bits and pieces of fabrics, ribbons, buttons, old photos, lace, ribbons and whatever is in my stash of stuff.........
