Thanksgiving the day after.................

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day......we went to my nieces house and we had 37.........a lot of people but her house is big enough to handle the entire Peters family....my mom and sister came along plus our nephews new mother in law from California....Toms sister and husband were not able to make it..........and a few more but for the most part we had a great Peters Thanksiving...........

I can't help myself..........

On the way to Newton Kansas a few weeks back my traveling partner Jenn McGlon heard of a quilting store that we needed to research..........we were not disappointed....the town is Wellington Kansas and the store is Beehive Quilts........if you are ever traveling near you need to stop.......it's so full of wonderful fabric and the owners are so sweet and helpful......while we were in Awww of the store the owners said they had just returned from Quilt Market and had the new Cathe Holden Vintage Soul fabric still in the boxes.........so they brought out the boxes and let us drool all over this fabric and let us buy some while it was still wrapped in plastic and not even in the inventory yet but they got it all out and we had fun deciding what we wanted.....they didn't have all of it then but we got what they had............ I knew what I was going to do with mine starting with the cover of my new Noodle and Lou 3rd set of paper dolls.......really!!!! I just can't help myself from making more of these little treaures..........so I thought since I am a big fan of  Cathe Holden's fabric lines I would incorporate the new and older fabrics in this tiny little book.....so here we go........

 

this first doll has a dress with the vintage soul fabric for the dress and the bird on her head and holding the flowers like the front over.......

( looking at his close up I need to finish the embroider around. her face and neck..oops)

this next one I cut the square fabric with all the flowers and tiered the colors.........this is also from the Vintage Soul line..........

 

this one below is an older line of fabric of Cathe Holden's ...........

this one below will have some bits and pieces of fabric but decided to do one with felt and lace..............

Every time I make a set of these I can't wait to make another set and already thinking of what would work for the next set......

 

I'm still working on the opposite sides of each doll...............here are a few more photos.........

here is the back cover with another one of my favorite fabrics that I have used quite a bit in my stitching projects..........

Anyway just thought I would show you what I have been stitching on in the evenings..........thank you once again to Jenn for creating these sweet patterns and Cathe Holden for always sharing her talents and products with all of her fans ...............when I finish this book I will share the rest with you.........

it's a noodle and lou day...........

You know you have a problem when you have several dolls from one of your favorite friends/artists Jenn McGlon (Noodle and Lou)......need I say more..... If you don't know her you need to ,she is like no other and always a talent that is far above all......just look at this tiny doll on a thread spool.....Jenn and I taught at the Christmas Camp in Newton a couple weeks ago and she gifted the teachers and host with these darling mini dolls......so cute and an addition to my ever growing collection......I don't know how far back I started collecting but these Christmas Dolls have 2016 and 2017 dates.......the snowman I made is one of the classes Jenn taught at camp........ they were so much fun to make......anyway if you want to start a collection you can go to her website Noodle and Lou and get started.....I am warning you though you will be addicted!!!!

Had the best time at the Church Christmas Market this past saturday.....thank you to all who stopped in to say hi.........it's always fun to see friends who have taken classes from me over the years and remembering and talking about the times we spent creating together......I did not get a photo of some of you but did get a couple.....our dear friend Brenda who has survived brain cancer and her sweet friend Donna......we go way back and so thankful that she was able to come and visit.......thank you!

And another dear friend who I met through Paper Crown years ago Carla Henderson and one of her Daughters........Carla is a sweet soul to many of the Paper Crown group and came all the way from Enid......So great to visit with this talented lady and thank you to her daughter for driving her down......

So many others to thank for stopping in on a busy saturday....wish I had taken more photos of your friendly faces but it was crazy for the first few hours.......hope you all had a great weekend!

 

I have got to go unload my car now ........... maybe I will have some more photos later on this week of what is on my worktable....happy monday!!!!!

Welcome to the Whatever House in Newton Kansas...............for a very special weekend packed with so much fun , laughter, creating some incredible art , meeting new friends, eating delicious food prepared by Chef Kimberlee Jost, enjoying our devotional time with an incredible and oh so talented writer Ashlee Gadd, classes with another talented and very famous artist Lori Siebert, the talented and also famous artist Jenn McGlon aka Noodle and Lou..........all of this would not happen if it wasn't for the Host and creator of the Famous Whatever House Meg Duerksen......

thank you to all of these sweet gals who sat and made whatever surprise we had for them to create in their own special way....so much fun to see each individuals take on how they wanted their project to look like when finished....I had so much fun girls.......I loved every minute creating with ya'll.........hope our paths cross again either at the Whatever House or somewhere else......Bless you all...........
