kitchen update............

Well I am finally finished with the new kitchen countertops and we absolutely love the new fresh look it has given our kitchen.........after 23 years of living with granite tops we decided to do quartz........here are a few before and after photos..

anyway that is the redo............we are enjoying all the bright new white......... I did keep the two small sinks in the butlers pantry and on the island. we decided to do one big sink on the window side of the kitchen.....I really wanted a big farm white porcelain sink but there was going to be too much carpenter work to take the cabinets  out under the sink to make it work so I stayed with the stainless and I am good it......the tear out was not as big of deal as I thought it was going to be and we were only without our stove top for one evening......not bad ......... the installation was done before noon and then they hooked everything back up the same day and I was cooking dinner that evening......something you put off for a long time and think why didn't we do this sooner....oh well..........glad it's done and now we are ready to entertain over the holidays............

the next 4 photos are the paper dolls that I cut and stuffed........they each have a pocket to put them in.....holiday themed and each has been named according to the season.....a little play on words but thought they needed names........

Now that I am pretty much finished I really learned a lot about how not to construct this book with so many fabric pages.........didn't start out to have so many but it grew as I went along......I made a lot of mistakes along the way but hopefully you can over look them......if you have a chance to make these you will have so much fun........thank you to Jenn for always coming up with such fun things for all of us to keep our hands busy stitching......if you are interested in ordering these you can go to Jenn's website Noodle & Lou.......and if you are lucky enough to be in Waco this weekend she will be teaching this class at the Paper Crown on saturday.............anyway have fun if you do end up making these fun fabric paper dolls.......

fall around this house...

I really don't do much decorating in the fall.......this is about all I ever do anymore.........( I am just getting old and lazy ) and it is always the same decorations.......I did add a pointed hat I made on my doll though.............the first photo is a branch that fell off one of the pecan trees last night so I decided to bring them in and add to the cart carrying guy......

 

 

 

and a little mincemeat pie for my husband.....once a year about this time I always bake him his favorite PIE.........

A little sneak peek into my new Noodle and Lou Fabric Paper Doll book..........I have done 2 sets..... one set will be flat sewn into the book and the other 4 are stuffed that will be tucked into pockets with their seasonal names.......
