it's a little early but..............

I was looking in some books last week and came across this pumpkin that I had made several years ago and inside the book was several patterns pieces of fabric that was already cut out so I decided to do a little hand stitching around some of the designs ........finished it all up and sewed the pumpkin up today and here is my little pumpkin project.......when I made these before it was for a girls retreat to give each attendee and I didn't make one for me to keep so this is mine a few years late but I now have one.....

Of ocurse I love anything Tilda comes out with ..........the book is "Sewing By Heart" Tilda.........

Hope you all are staying inside this week........the temps are going to be brutal here in Oklahoma and all over so stay cool my friends.........STITCH A LITTLE or a LOT!!!!

Whatever House Christmas...........

summer fly stitching.........I am not finished but it's been fun all these different ways to turn the fly stitch into fun colored stitches.........try it sometime...

anniversary card.........

A friend of mind asked if I would make a special anniversary card for her to give someone.......I am not real fond of making cards ( but I do love to make tags in the place of cards) but I said yes and this is what I came up with.....the couple is a Tim Holtz bride and groom paper doll and I placed it on a scribbled up piece of scrapbook paper then copied it of on a piece of card stock and one on photo paper .........just to see what would be easier to sew on and the entire look of each of the pieces......I love the cardstock look the best but the photo paper is easier and more user friendly to stitch on....so she has to make up her mind which one she wants...the stitching and colors vary slightly but it was fun to do...

a little gold touch here and there and a little sentiment on the outside/inside of each card.............a fun little project and something I do not do very often but enjoyed making them!

foDdeR chAllEnge 2023 into use...........

As I gathered up all of my 12 days of the Fodder challenge 2023 bits and pieces I then decided that I would make a few journals out of what I learned to make and create from some talented teachers.......here is the result.......

If you ever have the chance to do one of these do it......you will definitely get some great ideas and new techniques...

pillow talk........

Been a while since I made pillow.....I have had this applique finished for a while now and didn't quite know what to do with it so I did a little patchwork around the edge with my machine and then made it into a pillow....it's a little rough around the edges but I wanted it to look quilty......

FoDDeR scHool 2023.............

For several years I have heard all about Fodder School but never joined in on the fun until this summer when I heard about Willa Wanders 2023 Fodder School ........so I enrolled and have had the best time watching each day what these talented artists teach..... Of course anytime you can use water colors, paper and pens to doodle on I am totally in.....If you ever have a chance to join in on this wonderful adventure do it........I haven't done something from each day but I have watched all the videos and hopefully will be able to catch up and show you all what I have made.....

93 and counting........

 

Over this past weekend and several days we have been in celebration mode for my mom who turned 93 years old yesterday.....a huge surprise came monday when her baby brother flew in to surprise her after 7 years of not being together......he flew in late sunday night with his girlfriend and we had it all planned out to pick up my mom and my sister for breakfast on monday and he would show up....and it all worked out and have had the best time celebrating ...here is her reaction below:

and here we all are after the big surprise enjoying our time together...........we all got to visit for a couple days then we had her birthday dinner here last night......today they  fly back to California...........whew............surprises are fun when they are a surprise but also you don't want to be the one who leaks out that anything is about to happen...we all are surprised at ourselves for not ruining it for mom.....we had a great time and it was fun to be with my Uncle and his new girlfriend that we had not met.....

 

Now it's wednesday and I need to catch up on a few things that I have neglected for a week...

I had my eye check up yesterday and  the pressure has decreased and I won't have to go back until January if I have no problems or if the blurry comes back, so that was good news to hear.l

my BIG GIRL quilt..........

It's been a while since I have posted anything about this quilt......it started several years ago when Jenn McGlon offered her big girl embroidery patterns for sale....she started off with the Hi girls I think, then came the FiFi the french girl  and on and on and on until now I think their is 14 in this collection and hopefully more to follow....every one of them has been so much fun to stitch and add all kinds of ribbons, lace, felt, tulle, beads, velvet , yarn and different stitches to add the layers to make each one special......(Jenn has named each one of them )over the weekend I had 5 of them without the swatches around the edge so my goal was to do them and I got all of them completed except for 1.......I still have to go back on several of them and stitch around the images...I did a few in the beginning and it makes a big difference....anyway if you are a stitcher and want something fun to do this is your ticket.....Jenn McGlon is Noodle and Lou and you can find her on any social media to order...I know she sells out fast of her patterns so as soon as she has a new one you better not even think about it...order it then...anyway hope this will get you going in on the fun of these wonderful BIG GIRL embroider patterns....here is a look of some of them up close..

well there you have it on this monday...hope you all had a great weekend.........I certainly did, I finished my last 4 1/2 panels....I am all ready and set for the next one someday.........

paper stitching on a rainy sunday............

Just kind of messing around with this stitching on paper........kind of fun but you really have to know where the needle goes before you punch into the paer...you can see where I messed up but this is my first one to try this.......try it sometime.....it's kind of fun!

 

happy sunday.............we have had several rain/hail/thunder/ lightning/ flooding this past week and we need to dry up a little...hope your having a sun shiny day!!!!!
