weekend finishing up...........

You know I always love to play with paper....making journals is one way I can wind down and create something that doesn't need much as far as supplies....after I have stitched a lot and doing other projects I always grab a bunch of paper, ephemera scissors , glue and just start.....love making journals and these are a new crop I finished up this afternoon...a couple of them I tried something a little different and stitched a cover with random pieces of lace ribbons and fabric.....kind of fun.......hope you all have had a great weekend!

foxhollow studio fun..........

Yesterday was another fun day creating with all these talented gals..........Tiffany, Dawn and I headed down to Duncan Oklahoma for a soldering class in Teresa Youngs beautiful Fox Hollow Studio..............the class project was taught by Rita Reede from California.........we soldered and glued and added all sorts of bling to our projects...you can see from the photo above a couple of the bottles ...........of course I did not finish mine like always ........when I do I will  post it.......If you have never been to Teresa's studio for a class you need to......so charming ......... everywhere you look is all beautiful things she collects and has made......not only is she talented but Teresa and her husband Dave are the most gracious host and hostess.......thanks you! And thank you Rita and her guest for coming all this way to be with us Okies......we all enjoyed our sunday together creating beautiful things .......

 

how much fun to be with our dear friend Sandra who drove up from Dallas.....

And 2 times in 1 week to be with this dear friend from Texas (she is really an Okie ).......Robin!!!!!! We have gone years without seeing each other and boom twice ..........thank you Miss Robin.....we have had some good times and many laughs together...........

I think that is it for awhile to be a student and not the teacher.......love doing both!

 

Happy Monday all hope it's a great week..........I have a lot coming up so it's time to quit playing and get to work.....

the SHED in meeker oklahoma......

Yesterday was so much fun going to Meeker for a special class  "FRENCH HEART" taught by Tiffany Dixon..........we all went away with learning some new techniques to make art look old and rusty......Tiffany is a wonderful teacher and we all went away with these French hearts on old metal from who knows where.......

the photo above on the left is the owner Sandy of the Shed.....I met Sandy this summer when Tiffany and I took a little road trip to a few places around the meeker area.....Sandy is a delight and a wonderful hostess and Antique dealer....she definitely knows her stuff......

in the middle is Dawn one of Tiffany's friends and helpers......she is also a true Cowgirl and rodeo's with Tiffany!!!!! And fun to be with......

We were so happy when this lady walked in....Our dear friend Peggy who is a long time Paper Crowner .........I have not seen Peggy for a while because of some health issues....so it was so great she felt like coming to class....and thanks to her sister Jana from Colorado who drove her down......

Miss Tiff giving instructions of different techniques....we transferred images onto metal, soldered, torched, made rusty looking metal and all around just had a wonderful time.....(I love being a student and not the teacher!)

piled high.........

Not until a couple days ago did I realize just how many stitch books I have made......they are always a favorite and something you can always grab and continue adding on.....been working on a few projects for some upcoming classes and trying to figure things out.....I have a few questions to ask of you if you don't mind commenting for some feed back....

 

if you were making a stitch book would you like it to have a theme......

do you like it to be really chunky and messy or do you like it to be uniform with nothing hanging out of the sides, bottom or top.........

are all day classes to much or do you like evening classes that are just a few hours..............

with kits being provided for class do you feel like you always get your $ worth of products.........

everyone loves to bring extras and I love it that most of the time whether its paper or cloth adding your own stuff is always a good thing.........

if you were going to take a class this spring or early summer what would you like for me to offer.....

 

thank you for reading and leaving me any comments......I need all the help and feed back so I  know what you all want......I know it's been a long dry spell of me offering any kind of class here but I have slowed way down because it seems like I have traveled more to teach and I would like to do more here if I can......anyway hopefully with some of your comments we can get the ball rolling..................
