I just wanted to throw this out there for those of you who read this blog........if I decided to have classes in the Fall how many of you with strict guidelines would be interested?  I am just trying to get a feel as to where you all are and what to expect if I did try to have a couple classes in the fall.........Leave me a comment on how you feel about this and yes or no.......Thank You for always supporting this blog.

 

thank you for the well wishes on the eyes and they are much better today and hopefully with time they will come out of the blurr that I have  been experiencing for sometime now. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Tom's injections for his neck and arm went off without any problems this morning and we will see  with time if it helps his situation........getting old isn't for sissies that is for sure!!!!! 

(I usually don't share a lot of personal things like ailments or sickness but some of you have asked about it and I appreciate your concern and we are on the road to recovery!!!!!!

 

Happy Tuesday............. we have had rain for a day and a half and our yards are loving it!

monday monday........

This way my view over the weekend........with baseball finally starting back up there was 3 Yankee games ........... they lost one and won the other 2 against the Washington Nationals......one of those weekends I didn't feel like doing much...

today  I go back in to see my eye dr..........sometimes when you have cataracts removed you can develop a film later.......they go in and laser the eye to remove the film...... so this afternoon I will have this procedure done and hopefully it will correct my vision........I haven't been real impressed with the panoptic implant/cataract surgery so far but hopefully this will help out and my vision will be improved.........I will let you know!

On another note while we were in the mountains of Colorado  we looked out from our balcony one morning and they were setting up for a wedding.  The flowers were very simple and I enjoyed seeing from above and watching  preparations  and later the wedding  along with others who watched from their balcony's...

Don't have a clue who they were but fun to watch.......

Colorado in the summer always brings showers .........but doesn't last long and  always clears up to blue skies........the day of this wedding was no different.  A few hours before it took place it came a little shower then was perfect for the big event!!!!

 

Hope you all have a great day and week............I am planning on it and hopefully with my new improved vision I will get more accomplished than I have the last week since we returned from our trip!!!!

HAPPY MONDAY MONDAY..........

90 years.........

Last year at this time we thought we would have a big blow out for Mom's 90th birthday.........well fast forward to this year and our plans blew out the door........even though Tom and I were out of town and knew we would celebrate when we got back my sister went ahead and had a few of Mom's friends she plays cards with every Friday night over and they celebrated........At 90 years old if you were around my Mom you would think she was 70.  As Cindy always said she is the energizer bunny........Hopefully if I make it to 90 I have the same kick she has.........HAPPY BIRTHDAY # 90 Mom............

relax and rest in Colorado..........

We had a trip planned  this summer with the Oklahoma FDAF ( Ford Dealers) and up until the last month we didn't even know if it would happen but with all precautions etc. the board voted and we were on board.  We made this a driving trip as always and had no problems at all. We could make out destination to Vail Colorado in one day without having to spend the night on the road plus we had enough food and drinks ( picnic in the car )to make it..... we did need to make a couple gas and little girl stops though.........The hotel and everyone around was as protective and cautious as possible and it made us feel a little more relaxed than anticipated. I was so reluctant but we made it and enjoyed the cooler weather and just seeing a little different scenery. We are safely home and I am convinced I am a true homebody!!!!!!!! There is nothing like being home and in your own bed. Don't get me wrong we like to travel but the way things are right now in the world we live in it's just not something you can really feel comfortable........but all states are really taking it seriously and mandatory mask wearing in all places. In fact several times while we were gone over our phones there would be an emergency alert with mandatory mask wearing and on the road the digital signs in New Mexico and Colorado had the same messages.....so I really think while traveling we need to be extra careful....and even when we are not traveling. I hope you all are staying safe and enjoying these long hot summer days........I really don't need to rub this in but look at the temp in Colorado one morning below:

Of course the weather was perfect most days.  In the high 70's and one day it was in the 80's........

Well this is why I haven't blogged in about a week or so.......a much needed getaway for both of us.

Now I am looking forward to getting some creative work done......I did do a lot of doodling on this trip and absolutely no stitching even though I did take all my stuff. I just wasn't in the mood to stitch. Oh well.............

slow lazy week......

I don't know about you but this has been a slow lazy week for me.........I have started a few projects but get stuck in the middle trying to figure out the next step and my brain freezes up.....here is one of them that has been on my worktable for several days just sitting there......they are a little funky but I need to get going.......

needle books........

Several years ago we were to head out on vacation and since I wanted to sew in the car and that meant  I needed to keep my needles, scissors and pins in a safe place....as you all know there are so many variations of needle books but this one was something that worked for me (mine is on the left).......so I thought why not make more for gifts and to sell........some of them have the same punch needle work and others have felt motifs on the front.  They all are made out of an old cutter quilt and felt......there are places for the needles, pins and something to hold a small pair of scissors, plus a little pocket for miscellaneous things

 

I am still working on these and hope to finish them this week........

Instead of plain white reinforcement holes on your handmade tags you can brighten them up with  a little color........as you can see by the photos above you can use copic markers, spectrum markers gold leaf pens and even sharpie markers.....this just adds a little pop.......
