Happy New Year Classes.........

Well I finally am getting around to finalizing a few upcoming classes and hope to see many faces in the New Year ahead....

 

Tuesday January 14  " Valentine Velvet Heart"........5:30-8:30 If you didn't have a chance to make the Christmas Sacred Heart this will be another one just a little pink and fluffy.

 

Thursday January 23 5:30-9:00  "Valentine Tag Book"  This cute little book will be filled with all kinds of hearts, sweet faces, dresden, lace, ribbon, rhinestones and little bits of ephemera. Below are a few of the pages:

 

Tuesday Feb. 4 -"Basic Punch Needle" 5:30-8:30  For those of you who have wanted to learn Punch Needle this is a beginner class and we will be punching the first original pattern I designed "The PC Heart and Soul".........

  Two things you will need to bring to class is your needle ( Ultra Punch) and an 7" or 8* Morgan NO slip hoop.

You can go to the Punch Needle website at www.ultrapunchneedle.com or www.oldtatteredflag.com and order the needle kit. Make sure it's the 3 needle set.  Or if you wanted to order from the Paper Crown in Waco Cindy usually carries both of them. Paper Crown phone no is 245-224-7436. ( Hobby Lobby and Joanns carries the hoops) .......From experience DO NOT BUY ANY OTHER NEEDLE OR HOOP...........just warning you.  I have seen too many students buy other brands and they end up wasting their money and really frustrated at the same time........hopefully this will give you all plenty of time to get them before class.

Merry Christmas Friends.........

Received this sweet gift from a very dear friend this week.......I wanted to pass along this sentiment to all who stop by the blog and for those who are my dear friends who support me all throughout the year or should I say years.  You all are why I do what I do and I am so thankful to call you all my friends!  So with saying all of this I want to also wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and Blessings for the New Year ahead........THANK YOU!

cReaTing this time of year..........

I don't know what it is about this time of year but all the creative juices are not around........they aren't even flowing !  So I thought when Stephanie Rubiano had a new online shrink class I thought........why not......see if that sparked anything creative..........well I got this far on these new Marie shrinks and they have been sitting around just like this on my worktable for a couple weeks......  Really a sad situation but hopefully after the first of the year my brain and hands will start to create once again!

Anyhoo this is what is accomplished so far in my studio workroom...........I was hoping to have all of my classes for Jan and Feb ready to post but for now it will just have to wait until after the holidays....( I think maybe having my eye surgery has slowed down my creativity due to  adjusting to my new vision) I have my other eye surgery on monday just in time for Christmas!!!!!!

...... enjoy the few days we have left before Christmas.....slow down and enjoy the season.

Christmas Cookies.......

Spent the day frosting Sugar Christmas Cookies for a dear customer who orders these every year for her clients.......I think there is over 8 dozen!!!!!! It's a lot of cookies but I enjoy this part of baking them...........last week was the hard part for me, making the dough, rolling them out, cutting them out and baking them!  Oh well they are all boxed and ready to deliver!

on another note........

This week I heard about why this sweet place is not going to be mine..........found out it's on the Historical Registry. My niece is a realtor and she kept trying to get some information and just kept finding out nothing. Finally my husband left a card and called the church which is next to it and talked to the Pastor and he is the one who gave us the information.......just wasn't meant to be! Oh well back to square one.......but isn't it just the most charming little thing!!!!!

just in time........

Just in time for my Christmas plant to bloom.........it just knows when to show off their beautiful hot pink blooms........my niece gave this plant to me about 6 years ago and I have never moved it from my front kitchen window........evidently it loves this spot and I love how it looks, especially this time of year.  If you look really close you can see how they start off with just the tiniest little bulb and then within a couple days it just blossoms into full bloom......thanks Kimberly!

no more.......

Well you know your getting old when you need cataract surgery, but that's okay with me.........I will no longer need any of this to see, read or drive.......I have been waiting several years for this surgery and monday I had the left eye done and get the right one done on the 23........it's so weird already because every thing is so much BRIGHTER!!!!!! I got the Panoptix Lens implant so I can see everything without contacts, glasses or readers...........I am so excited to be able and not worry about always having all these things with me  when I walk out the door........It got so bad I couldn't even read anything on the TV even with my bifocals up close.........so it was time and I know I am going to love it...........Merry Christmas to me!!!!!

Vintage Market in Okc this weekend......

If you live in the Okc metro I would recommend to hit the fair grounds this weekend. Plenty of antiques and Christmas good to be found.  It's small but really quaint and doable for some fun shopping.  They even have a few food venues if you decide you need a little pick me up while shopping......

below is something I just had to come home with........I love these old photo albums ....even though the cover is a little chipped up I still loved the photo and how in great shape the inside and back cover was in....

Anyway if your looking for something fun to do and get a little shopping done ( without going to the mall) I would hit the fairgrounds!!!!!

last class for 2019...........

I didn't take to many photos while class was going on because it was a little time consuming passing out each page as they put together this deconstructed journal...each page was folded in half so you had double on each page and when we put it all together with ribbon and a velvet binding it made for a really sweet Christmas Journal....Thanks girls you all did an amazing job and hope you will have fun filling this with Christmas Memories......

and you have to have homemade marshmallows.........

On the recent trip to Waco a couple weeks back Cindy had used the Magnolia Table cookbook for several recipes she used......so when I got home I headed to Target to get a copy  ....the Brownie Pie and Crackers for last nights class were in this book.  If you don't have one maybe it needs to be on your Christmas list.  So many wonderful recipes!

As always I just want to thank each and everyone who takes one of my classes..........I love teaching and you all are always supportive and encouraging with whatever I am doing.....Even though it's been a little strange teaching in different locations you still come and never complain........maybe 2020 is the year I will be in a permanent place, but for now we will make this work.

2020 is just around the corner and hopefully I will get a January/Feb schedule of classes out soon....I change my mind daily of what I think will make interesting classes and then I decide on something else......so hang with me and we will see what the new year holds.  Until then I am wishing all of you the Merriest Holiday Season and Blessings on each and everyone for a healthy and safe season ahead.......Merry Christmas!!!!!!
