We finally did it.......my first class to teach at the New Paper Crown Waco.......and what a fun and exciting evening! A class full of old and new friends. Surprised from Peachtree Georgia Maria, who was a regular class attender at the PCOKC....thanks Maria for coming all that way to attend and always being such a sweet encourager.
Linda and Teresa came in from Houston......Thank You. So glad I met two talented ladies who love the same things we do at the Paper Crown. Hope to see you all again!
THese three talented Texas/Oklahoma sisters and niece........Scarlett(right) is who helped me get the patterns on paper and printed........her sister Abby ( left) who is the talented baker who made the amazing cookies with the punch needle patterns, Katy ( middle) niece to Scarlett and Abby........these 3 are so talented and I'm thankful and grateful for their friendship. Thanks for making the trip to Waco and supporting me always.
Another new sweet friend Karen........Karen had a box full of OLD punch needle stuff she has been saving for years that was her mother's .......she used the needle that is so different from our new modern version but still got the same result. Thanks Karen for sharing and preserving something so special.
Pam and Angelia came from Burleson, I think....(Don't hate me if I got that wrong) Anyway we had a great time getting to know these two sweet gals. They did an amazing job just like everyone.....hope to see you all again in class. ( thanks for the delicious cookies)
And then we have these two.........Charlotte and Robin or should I say Thelma and Louise.....let me just say I was in total shock to see these two. Let's back up on this story a little... I always make name tags for each of my classes. So a few days before each class I get the list of students from Cindy. Not knowing the gals in Waco or who was taking the class I never thought of Thelma and Louise as any other different name....so I made the tags. Class night it was around time to start and the Thelma and Louise tags were still left......Cindy said lets just wait a few more minutes.....we did and a few minutes later I looked up and who was standing there... these two.......SHOCKED !!!!!! After loud screams, hugging and still can't believe what I see we all settled in and got to work.
And what can I say about Cindy and Jenn...........SO MUCH !!! We had such a full class that Jenn was in the background punching away in her lap........thanks for understanding Jenn! Jenn is now a permanent teacher at the Paper Crown Waco.....and I know Cindy is glad to have her and Jenn to have Cindy! They make a great pair. Jenn is also known as Noodle and Lou and if you have ever seen this talented ladies goodies you know why Cindy is happy to have her teach....she is known all over for her clay creations and talented and creative art......and a sweet friend!
And Cindy.........well let's just say if it wasn't for Cindy and her generous support and love for 12 years last thursday evening would of never happened.......because of Cindy and the Paper Crown I would not be teaching and having a punch needle line of patterns. I am forever grateful and thankful for this friendship I share with Cindy and the Paper Crown.......Thank You so much Cindy for the chance to teach once again and to experience the Waco store and your new group of friends....and hopefully I will be able to teach again.
On the way down to Waco my husband asked if I was nervous.......not nervous but a little concerned these gals would be frustrated like I was the first time I tried to punch needle...well they proved me wrong and they caught on and did an outstanding job and just punched away...so proud of each and everyone.......Thank You girls for taking my class and for traveling from far and wide to spend the evening with me and the Paper Crown. Truly a great way to introduce my new passion for punch needle and the first class to teach, you all are A plus students!
Even though there wasn't enough time to finish the project that evening , I have received several text and photos of their finished projects once they got home......yeah for all of you. I hope you continue to punch and enjoy this fun old/new tradition of punch needle.
If you are ever in Waco you need to stop in and see Cindy at the New Paper Crown.
For those of you who are local ( Waco) and want to purchase the Punch Needle patterns they are available for purchase now at the Paper Crown.
I am still trying to decide on other ways you can purchase the patterns.....hang with this old soul and her old ways............!!!!!
I hope you all are enjoying this cooler weather and September fall days.....
Thank You Cindy and the Paper Crown once again for the fun evening full of so many fun memories and hopefully more in the future.......
