Well I know I get a little carried away but when something just clicks you just go for it Thanks to our dear friend Stephanie Ackerman...... her idea sparked something for several of us and now we can't stop.......to me it is relaxing to just sit and stitch. I think that is why I have always loved making quilts and instead of machine stitching I always loved to hand stitch the quilt.....call me crazy! So I think that is why I love making these........and they are smaller to work on than a quilt. I still have several in these pictures to finish up but I work on several at the same time......the one below is one of the Summer books, and my dear friend Becky ( who is also addicted) brought me this darling lifeguard/summer fabric when she was out of town....I had already purchased the black and white from the same line of fabric but just went crazy when I saw this.....so you will be seeing more of it in the summer!!!!
Well ladies I hope all who returned home from Glitter Retreat has had time to take a deep breath and relax in some sort of way.........
.........if any of you who like to stitch and want to join the Paper Crown stitch night , we will be trying something a little different this summer.....instead of our Mix and Mingle we will have Stitch night the second tuesday of each month. Bring your stitching and we will sit around and stitch! More of the information and time will be on the Paper Crown blog and I will also let you know ahead of time on this blog!
Happy Thursday.......

Dinner fit for a Queen or should I say Queens............the tables were set with beautiful settings and centerpieces with fresh flowers........Queen Girdie photo with Banners and Crowns
Each chair draped with sashes and adorned with multiple charmed ribbons.......
I can't tell you or these pictures don't even come close to how beautiful the room looked with the lights off and the candles lit......what better way to end the first day and waiting to see what happens in this room on saturday........
the lighting isn't the best at the top of the stairs but we had two of these greeting the girls when they entered the dining room...............
a post card at each place setting.
Saturday morning after their Quiche breakfast it was back to the classroom to finish the dolls they made the day before and now they were all baked and ready to paint and dress......
The painting took most of the morning and we ran a bit late but they all finished and Jenn helped them along the way with a little eyeball here and there.....look at these adorable dolls
We all just stood around and ohhhhh and awehhhhhhed.....just like you would with a new baby!
And the proud Mama of all these little dolls.......
I know I am not the only one to say this but Jenn you could not of been sweeter and more fun to be with and I know everyone else agrees with me so a huge THANK YOu for such an enjoyable class....Angie, Cindy and I are just sad we didn't get to make one but hopefully this won't be your last time to teach this class.....
Probably a good thing Jenn's class went long because we were up changing the dining room for one last meal........
these were the girls take away at each place setting.....little swan jewelry boxes......
And all the Art by Angie in coloring book form.....
The swan centerpieces were made by one of our other favorite PC special teachers Lesa Daley........if you love these you are in luck because she will be here May 6 to teach her Swan magic!
Now these stuffed swans were given to me one day when I asked Cindy if there was anything I could do and she handed me this box of 3 white stuffed swans and said here dress these up....at first I didn't have a clue what I was going to do with them but I looked at them for a day or two and just had at it....and these are how they turned out! Kinda whimsical but made our frames stand out for the swan themed lunch!
The blue canvas Swan was painted by our artist in house none other than Angie..........this girl is the best and she has more ideas rolling around in that creative head of hers.....thanks Angie for always coming up with these beautiful pieces of art.......
The last meal is when the girls receive a huge goodie bag full of fun creative gifts Cindy gives each attendee........they always love their goodie bag. I don't have to many photos of this meal because I was downstair setting up for my class.
We also had 3 different swaps going on after each of the meals. I know Cindy had a professional photographer take photos on saturday and she will have photos up as soon as she gets them....I also know many of you have seen photos of course on social media floating around! These are just the ones I took and I hope you can just see how much fun we all had taking classes , setting up for the meals and enjoying just being around each other and creating some fun projects!
After Lunch the girls headed back downstairs for the last class.....
By now these girls were tired but they all finished and we did manage to take a group photo of them holding up both of the dolls they made...
what a great group of gals...........thank you all, you did an outstanding job no matter how tired and frustrated you were you all were amazing!
a few random shots from the weekend.....
the first night at the welcome dinner they each received this sweet tag with one of the art magazines Cindy carries at the store.......
And this would not be a possible weekend without this Lady..........She goes above and beyond to make every little detail possible......the hours she spends making sure everyone will be taken care of is way more than anyone will ever know. So from each and everyone I know you feel like me THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! You are the best and we can't even begin to thank you enough.....I hope you know that...
So there you have the weekend wrap up and I know Cindy will have better and more photos on the Paper Crown blog......but for me that is all I have!
And Cindy Lou you are the Queen of the Castle!!!! We all Love you!!!!!

Cindy pulled it off once again.............Glitter Retreat 2017 went off without a hitch ( except for the first morning I forgot to put the coffee in the pot).......Anyway it was the best Glitter Retreat yet!!!!! We had gals from several states including 5 from California, New Jersey, Georgia, Texas and the rest from Oklahoma! What a great group of gals to spend the weekend with to create, laugh, talk, eat ,create new friendships that will last forever and memories to take us far! So here are a few of the 400 photos I took while the weekend was going on........
The retreat theme was all about "Queen Girdie", Crowns, Royalty ........our famous artist Angie came up with our own Girdie you will see every where....... the original Girdie manniquin is dressed kinda sorta like the artwork........Below is a photo of "Queen Girdie" on the cutest little pencil bag Cindy had made for each of the girls the first morning. Our friend Jamie Palerino made these adorable bags.....so everything you see has our original Queen Girdie artwork by Angie!! ( check out the zipper....it has a crown charm and a little bedazzled on the crown)
All these happy faces on the first morning........they were all ready for Angie's Crown class after a delicious breakfast Cindy prepared of Raspberry french toast and fruit........
What a fun class and what a way to start retreat with a Crown!!!!! Let me just insert this little bit of Oklahoma Weather while this class was going on........the weather we knew was coming from reports all week long that it was going to be a little sketchy on friday, and sure enough it was showing off ......we all made it to the store dripping wet and while these gals were making crowns it was coming a flood all over the metro area with high winds that snapped some poles on one of our main streets....but thankfully we did not loose power .
They broke for lunch and headed upstair to the Paper Crown attic all decked out with flowers and teacups all over.......
If you have ever been to Glitter Retreat you all know that the decorations change for each meal.......it's always transformed into beautiful themed decorations and goodies to take home! The flower and teacup lunch was set up with a package of Oklahoma Salmon Zinna packet of seeds and Paper Crown baseball hats to wear out in the sun while you are planting the seeds......
How cute are these two with their caps on.....
While the girls were having lunch our SPECIAL Guest teacher Jenn was downstairs preparing for her unbelievable doll class........these girls were in for the most incredible class ...they were all in for a treat!
Because of the weather conditions the planned field trip was cancelled.........so we had a couple other options for the girls to do before the afternoon class started!
Jenn had already sculpted the face and body for each girls.......so the legs arms crown and swan were left to them to do.......
I hate to say it but while Jenn was teaching I was upstairs so I don't have to many photos of the sculpting that was going on......but I do know these gals did an incredible job ! Jenn is a very patient, fun, easy going type of teacher and makes you feel comfortable.........everyone did their own thing whether it had a crown or cowboy hat they all were so different...the end result is what is AMAZING.......these girls were so lucky to have this sweet talented Jenn to teach them her adorable sculpting magic! We had to break Jenn's class into to days because of the clay had to be baked for them to add the paint and dressing up these little gems.....and they did on day two which will have to be tomorrows blog post......
Treats all weekend..........
the dolls before they are baked and painted......
Like I said while Jenn's class was going on this is what was happening upstairs.......to be continued tomorrow!!!!!
Happy Monday and I hope everyone who attended arrived home safe ............

This is the sight over the weekend.........getting kits ready for Glitter Retreat and doing some more hand stitching in the evening......the obsession continues!
this stitching thing is kinda like scrapbooking and doodling you just keep adding layers and layers.......I pick them up and add more stitches, buttons, and applique goodies....and I'm not finished......you will get tired of seeing this but I can't help it!!!
And check out the new "Tula Pink" ribbons Cindy just got in.........so much fun!
well that is it for this beautiful monday morning..............enjoy your day!
