last nights class.......

Girls you did it once again.......came to class, worked hard and went home with a completed project..........yeah!  They really turned out cute and I hope they will be placed somewhere special for you to enjoy this Halloween season and for years to come.........

 

This weekend if you already don't know the Casady Square sidewalk sale is going on.......how lucky are we to have two weekends in a row to score on some wonderful products at  the Paper Crown. DOn't miss out on the savings!

pink boxes

This weekend is my friend Jill's daughter's wedding and these pink boxes are full of heart shaped cookies with the bride and groom's initials.........255 of them.............!

I had them all over my dining room table plus I ran out of cookie sheets, trays and racks for them to dry on.........

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom.....

A little different than pastel heart cookies is this Peanut Butter Fudge for the girls in class tonight........see you all tonight!

thankful canvas........

Thursday October 20 5:30-9:00........we will be creating this neutral looking floral arrangement with different types of ledger paper, dictionary paper, encyclopedia paper and different old book papers........ we will cut out the shapes, distress them around the edges with ink and gold leaf pens then glue them into a floral arrangement with Thankful letters to complete it! How great this would look on your Fall table or nestled in a book case with an easel holding the canvas........hope to see you in class!

Cindy got in a new shipment of Sandra Evertson Relics and Artifacts last week..........so over the weekend I was anxious to make a few more since it's been a while ....got into my stash of velvet and jewelry findings and this is what I came up with.....

And this last one is just and old tin type of a baby I thought would be cute mounted on some velvet...........check the sweet little hand painted heart button in the middle ...

On a really sad note if you are from OKC............the famous Charcoal Oven is closing...........we are all so sad to see this establishment closing after all these years.  Tom and I love to go at least once a week usually on the weekend.  They have the best Onion Rings I have ever had..........really!  I don't eat red meat so I can't give you my say  about the burgers but my husband's favorite burger .......... I usually get the grilled chicken sandwich or their salad with sliced grilled chicken and it is delicious..............So if  you are a big fan I suggest you head over to get the last of Charcoal Oven deliciousness........last night their was 21 cars in line when we arrived so if you go don't be in a big hurry!

Halloween tag workshop............this will kinda be like our past Paper Doll workshop.........I will provide some materials for you and you will create 3-4 tags out of scraps and added photos and Halloween ephemera............the date is September 29 5:30-8:30........hope to see you all for a fun evening and lots of orange and black...........

 

I have a few spots available for this upcoming class thursday evening August 25 from 5:30-9:00 Call the store and sign up for both of these mentioned.......

For those of you who have already signed up for  this class thursday you will need your basic class kit along with a glue gun, distress ink of your choice, glue pen and I think that's it!  See you all thursday evening.........

43 years ago today.........

Happy Anniversary to this guy............43 years go by fast and I can't imagine it with anyone else.........selfless, kind, thoughtful, Godly man............love you!

a colorful wednesday.......

several years ago I stumbled across this fun project and it has stuck in my head but never tried it until today...........I know all of you who follow and check out pinterest have seen this....

(photo above is without gold leaf flakes......below is with the flakes)

cut up a bunch of colored tissue paper, crepe paper and cardstock and you get this colorful confetti........grab some double sided tape then cut into 12' strips and dip one side of the tape in this colorful mess

 

Then I thought why not punch out some circles and stars out of one sided sticky paper.... you will have to either sew or glue on since this paper is only one sided sticky

Well if you need a little color on those special cards or packages this is a quick and fun way to add a little color and whimsy........

bracelet fun........

I got the great idea from blogger and artist Rae Missigman to make these fun whimsical bracelets out of popsicle sticks........really??????? I thought it was a no brainer and I followed the instructions by the book.........I soaked, boiled, wound around a glass(inside), microwaved, painted and had fun but lets just say  trying to get them to stay closed and small enough to go around your wrist was a little trickier than I thought............I let them dry in the glass after microwaving and they just kept trying to spread........then I thought I would wind rubber bands to keep them from spreading........once I put the primer paint on they started to spread again so it was a little more work than I thought........and everyone of them is a different size once they dried.........all in all I had fun anyway!

The faces are washi tape...........though it would be fun to add a little washi!  I did use my signo white and gold pens but the sealer/varnish I used to seal it erased it so I learned the hard way and did the lines over.......I think next time if I do it I will use a spray sealer and see if it stays on, but I probably won't be making any more even though it was fun!
