Do you remember " Paint by Number" when you were a kid..........I was gifted this for my birthday and have had so much fun once again painting by number...........I will show you the painting when I finish! And I may need a new pair of glasses with stronger lenses.........ha ha!

Thanks to all these gals who helped me celebrate my birthday all weekend........friday while we were at the Silos shopping Miss Cindy Lou handed me a bag that had a gift certificate for the Silos from all the girls......... of course I had to spend all of it and this is what I came home with.... this beautiful black and white stripped marble cheese board, a few journals and you can't get home without a Magnolia T SHIRT..............A surprise birthday Cake I wasn't expecting at all.......And by the way it was delicious..........

Thank You girls for spoiling me all weekend long with cards gifts and most of all your friendship! Every little snippet just added the cherry on top of this memorable weekend.............
Saturday afternoon we left the Magnolia house and ventured our way back to Waco for another fun adventure........the gals who traveled with me in the car kept us all laughing the entire trip......photos below will let you know what I am talking about.........
Since Cindy knows Waco she gave us a list of must go toooooooos and this was one shop on the list. The cutest little candy store full of anything sweet and more! Let me explain this next picture. If you all know Becky, she is this quiet, sweet, innocent ( at least I thought she was) gal! As I was walking around the candy store all of a sudden I turned around and this life size cat was prancing and dancing around the store..........I just couldn't stop laughing! It was truly one of the funniest moments and I still crack up every time I think of it! The people in the store probably thought we were on something................
She ended up buying the mask............ as we were sitting outside waiting for the others she pulled it out of the sack put it on again........
Look at the faces on the people walking by............I started laughing once again.
Then Angie had to get in on the fun............oh my! Like I said you would of never thought Miss Becky would ever do something like this! I loved it!!!!!!!! (She also said her daughters would be totally mortified, she has 3!)
Around the corner of the Candy store was this painted wall we thought would be fun to take some photos.........and we did!
By this time we were so slap silly anything said was funny and Angie taking the photos who knows what she was saying and doing!
Now off to the next stop..........In Out Burgers.........Angie and Kay had never had one so it was a must stop!
I even asked the guy in the drive in window if my two friends could have a In Out Burger hat since this was a first for them...............something to cherish! Ha
As you can see we did a lot of laughing, talking and eating along the way to and from OKC to Waco..........We said good bye saturday evening but the adventure and fun continued on the way home sunday, we lost Becky to join her family in Colorado and Nancy joined us once again................Kay grew up in Texas so she knows all the good stopping places along the road...........first stop was a little town Snook....Czech town with the most incredible SLOVACEK's bakery and store...........I think we bought one of everything, not really.........Kay was eating the Kolache as she was walking out the door.......we all bought plenty of goodies though.......And have you ever heard of Buc-ee's? My friend Jill advised me when she knew I was headed south to Waco that I HAD to stop at Buc-ee's.......well let me just say this " Everything is BIGGER in Texas" , they are so right...........this place is crazy! The biggest convenience store I have ever been in.........if you ever have a chance to stop, do it! You can't even believe it when you walk into this massive store........Really!!!!!!!!
Well I think this is the last of my Waco post and photos! To all those who traveled with me and those who attended the Stephanie Bible Journaling at the Magnolia House THANKS for the memories!

Just a little tour of the SHIPLAP house..................I didn't take as many photos inside as I thought but you can at least see how quaint and comfortable it truly is.... you just don't want to leave.........I know Stephanie and family were sad to say Good bye............like I mentioned yesterday I still can't believe we actually were there and got to see and be at the Magnolia House!

This past weekend a few OKC friends had the privilege to attend a Magnolia/Stephanie Ackerman/Bible Journaling adventure in Waco Texas at the Magnolia Bed & Breakfast! Words cannot express or certainly convey to Stephanie how lucky we felt for her to share this wonderful experience, and to share her gift of Bible Journaling outside on the grounds of the Fixer Upper Magnolia Bed and Breakfast ! Even though it was hot ( thank goodness there was a breeze and cloud cover most of the day) we didn't care. We just felt special ...........here are a few photos of the weekend...........
Friday we headed down to Waco and met up with several other gals along the way.......we ate lunch when we arrived and then headed over to the Silos.......before I continue if you aren't familiar with HGTV's show Fixer Upper all of this won't mean much to you, but those who follow Chip and Joanna Gaines I don't need to explain. This couple has turned Waco Texas into a main attraction.........it's really unbelievable what they have done to this town. If you are ever in Waco or driving by you need to stop and see what they have done! You won't be disappointed. It's a crazy place on the weekends though......go in the middle of the week......I'm just warning you! The photo above is the Magnolia gift shop full of all kinds of things to decorate your home and a lot you see on the program! We all went away with at least one bag!
After a fun day traveling and shopping the Silo's we all met up for Dinner at Manny's Mexican Restaurant........since Cindy is an Alum of Baylor and a couple kiddos who are Baylor Bears, she knows all the great places to eat.......we all left the restaurant pretty early so we could all get a good nights rest for saturday and the reason we were down there....
The Bed and Breakfast is actually 30 minutes from Waco in a little town called Mcgregor.....when we all arrived we were so excited to be there........Stephanie and her Sister Jen greeted us and had the tables and umbrellas all ready for us to sit and enjoy our time together......
These two treated us like royalty..........whatever we needed they were right there to accommodate! Because it was a little warm they even went around with a water mister to keep us hydrated........
Our project was a painted canvas cover for our New Journaling Bibles Stephanie gave us!
One great thing about painting outdoors in the heat our canvas dried really quick...........
We all met new friends and quickly felt like we were old friends reuniting on a warm summer day painting, talking, laughing, telling stories, spraying water at each other, and just having an unbelievable time and still in awe of our surroundings.
I hope Stephanie doesn't kill me for this.......ever time a breeze came up she lifted her arms to get a little air............sorry Stephanie, I just had to.......we laughed every time!
Sweet Lisa Nix met us on saturday then headed home after the class............she is the official Paper Crown Marketing Director!!!! And she is the best........hope you arrived home safe Lisa...
After our morning of painting we broke for Lunch........our delicious box lunches Stephanie provided........The young lady in the red blouse is Mary Ann's sweet daughter in law.........Mary Ann is the lady who runs the Bed and Breakfast.......Mary Ann and her daughter in law both join us for class.
This is Mary Ann who runs the Bed and Breakfast and gets to live in the cute house in back of the B & B........if you didn't get to see the episode of Fixer Upper Bed and Breakfast you need to catch it when it reruns because she is as sweet as she appears to be......... And Thanks to her we got to do this..............
After lunch we continued to finish our covers and then Stephanie shared with us how she journals in her Bible and gave tips and techniques........just think some of us were lucky to have two weekends of Stephanie Bible Journaling class.....she was at the Paper Crown the weekend before....she's been a busy lady!

After our weekend with Stephanie and our watercolor/doodle classes I have had a little extended fun with my watercolors...............

Last week after the big clean out and reorganizing of my room I found all kinds of goodies to start a few new projects...........one of them was these pin cushions.....I found the picture I had saved and thought I had lost on making these pin cushions. I have made a lot of pin cushions through the years and loved these so with all my new found old STUFF just sitting in front of me I thought I would make a few. I wanted to incorporate all these different kinds of baubbles and doo dads I found and also add some embroidery stitches, not much but just enough to add some dimension to each little cushion.......I started them last week and finished a few of them yesterday........after stitching this past weekend with Stephanie I was on a roll and to keep going............my dear friend Nan also has inspired me because of this below....
Is this not the most amazing piece of handwork you have ever seen................Nan is a master seamstress and you can tell by this work of art that she loves to stitch! I have loved the process over the past several months in the progression of her butterflies and so glad she brought it to class and I finally got a photo! Thanks Nan for your inspiring me to get out the needle and thread........your the best!
So on these HOT summer days to stay cooled off get your needle and thread and start stitching..........Happy Tuesday!

You can tell by this sweet photo that we had a fun and exciting weekend with this lady.......Stephanie Ackerman is one talented lady full of all kinds of creative ways of teaching Lettering, doodling and now some stitching techniques. We all went away with some great ways to beautify out Journaling Bibles, Day Planners, cards and tags! Then we had a fun stitching class and made cute sampler patches out of the sweetest fabric and took home some wool felt to make tissue covers..........
Our first class friday evening was Bible Journaling! We had a full class...........and everyone was excited to get started. First of all Stephanie had different types of medium to show us how to apply in our Journaling Bibles. Not everyone uses the same kind so she demonstrated each one .........everyone is different and hopefully each one got to experiment and try them all out. Cindy carries all types of markers, paints, pencils, neocolors etc. at the Paper Crown, so it was easy for them to find what they like and purchase them while they worked!

Saturday we started the first class of Doodling......Stephanie wrote the book on doodling........
Stephanie is showing us how to doodle with some of her sizzix cut outs, trace around them, add your lines, doodles and you have some fun creations..........
After we all tried our hand at doodling we had what Stephanie called Open House where we walked around to check out each others work.......everyone did an amazing job.....even our youngest..
Is she not a doll...........Caroline and her mom came to two of the classes and we enjoyed watching this talented 11 year old at work!
A little nourishment is always needed while creating...........
We broke for lunch and started the second class in the afternoon........Stitching
Just a few basic stitches and these gals were ready to start stitching..........a way to relax on a hot summer afternoon with old friends and new friends..........
Thank You Stephanie for coming back to Oklahoma to teach us okies a little more of your wonderful ways to be creative and apply her special techniques for our everyday art....... She is an excellent teacher and teaches from her heart!
We all hope she comes back again next year!!!!!!!
Once again I want to Thank Cindy for inviting these awesome artists to the Paper Crown to have weekends like this! We feel so lucky because we have people come from different states just to attend these classes.........These kind of stores are far and few between and anytime you have small independent stores we need to support them so we can keep having these types of weekends, so PLEASE support them!!!!!!

Copic Markers............
My Copic markers all fit into this long skinny plastic container.......the section the pens are in have a divided grill to keep them upright to see the number and color name.......I know this is a no no since you are really suppose to have them laying horizontally but this is how I work.........and next to the grid section is the section to hold the copic refills.......I won't be able to put to many more pens or refills but it's really just the ones I use the most and I hate to run out........some of my pens are duplicates and I may be able to fit a few more in if need to.......and the end section is different kinds of other markers that I have tried but not a big fan of ............then I make a sheet sample so I can refer back to it when I need a special color and want to know the true color when it is on white paper..........
Here is a another way I keep what I have so I don't duplicate.........I keep this also on my phone so when I am purchasing pens I know what I have in pens and refills.........
Spectrum Noir Markers...........
I love these markers ..........I have literally gone through dozens and dozens of these but the price is great and it's well worth it because I love the tips and the colors are wonderful........Cindy started carrying these and I am so glad she did because I go through a lot of them..........a couple years ago the only way you could buy them was in sets, but now you can buy them individually ..........I have even tried to use the Copic refills on several of the colors that match close and they work great!
I keep these in this wooden crate........they fit in perfectly and easy to carry from one room to another because it has a handle............
And of course there are times I use my Good Ole Sharpie's.............a use for all of them and I can say they get a work out almost everyday..............I love markers!!!!
Well it's that time of year and yes I am loving every minute of peach season.......even though this is the first round and they are still a little clingy you can still enjoy a bowl of fresh peaches in the morning topped with some Greek Yogurt, a little peach cobbler ( which is already finished) and fresh peach muffins which those of you who will be coming to the Paper Crown this weekend will get to try these.........I am always looking for new ideas and recipes for all this fresh fruit that is in season now!
