This past weekend we helped celebrate this ladies big birthday. If you don't know Kay she is one of the most giving gals around. She is a volunteer at the OU's Children's Cancer hospital and many other projects that go along with these children's projects throughout the year. Last year she adopted a Rwanda student who attends Oklahoma Christian University for 4 years while she is attending college getting her degree in Bio Chemistry. Come to find out when they paired her up with Kay they found out they had the same birthday..................well this lady decided she wanted to throw a party and a party she did.....The adopted daughter lives in a village in Rwanda and they have to travel miles to get water! So Kay hooked up with the Oklahoma City Water 4 project who teaches these students how to dig for wells when they return to their country! Kay is a visionary so she came up with the idea of having a bowling party with raffle and donations for this project. In Rwanda the cost to drill for 1 well is $2,500! Kay raised enough money for these students to drill for at least 4 wells! What a blessing she is to all of us and what a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday.
Here are a few photos from the party:

Kay and her adopted daughter Zitha

These are some of the students who attended the party.......what a sweet group of young people from another country to come and support each other!
The photos below is something that will really make you understand how much we take things like water for granted in the US. We had a table with a big container of water and these kids went straight for the water and sat and just enjoyed a class of water.......now if that doesn't tug at your heart I don't know what will!

They all bowled and for some of them was the first time!

And of course you can't have a Birthday party without cake!
This is my friend Kay and now you know how special she is and what makes this lady tick, A GIVING HEART!
After the party I headed ( in fact I left early) because we had a special teacher once again at the Paper Crown for a weekend of classes, Debby Schuh! I wasn't able to attend all of the classes but I did get to take her afternoon class called Storyteller! Thanks Debby, as always we loved your classes and came home with one of your wonderful albums!

I know Cindy took photos of the weekend so you can click on the side bar Paper Crown to see those!
Monday..................

And many of you know I am a HUGE New York YANKEE fan. So yesterday we headed to Dallas to watch the Yankees play the Rangers. Some of our friends from Dallas have season tickets and they so graciously gave us two of them. Thank You Dave and Gaylene! Even though Texas won it was still a thrill and highlight of mine to go see one of the last games that Derek Jeter will play, and I know many of you ( ha ha) know he will be retiring at the end of this season! It definitely won't be the same Yankee team without him.

We got there about an hour early so we got to see them in batting practice. You can see him under the salute red sign with the balled head......

If you have never been to the Texas stadium it is really nice!

He's up to bat!
It was a beautiful evening in Dallas and we got home this morning about 2! Oh well what you won't do to go watch a baseball game and see the great Derek Jeter..........
Well it looks like maybe my computer problems may be okay for the time and I am not going to say more than that at this point because you never know!
I know this is a long post and I apologize but I had a long fun weekend!
Happy tuesday all!
