Happy Halloween.............

This is far from a Halloween photo but just thought you all would like to see Girdie all dressed up for the Holidays...........yesterday she got her makeover!  Not quite finished but when we get all her tweeking finished I will take a photo at the Casady Square Open House.........Nov. 12!  More on the open house on the Paper Crown blog..... 

this basket will be full of all the new Cavallini Christmas papers all rolled up...........one of those will be accompanied by "Girdie".............!  You will have to wait.

Since the Paper Crown is a Paper Art store I always try to use as much paper on girdie........this time I used two rolls of wrapping paper on her skirt.........cupcake liners for her ruffle around the bottom of her red top,  and the ruffles around her neck are cupcake liners too...... Her Santa Hat is really soft glitter paper that I scrunched up and  then added the fur and a little greenery to add a special holiday touch!  The red jacket is also wrapping paper!  Well I think Mrs. Girdie Claus is ready for the Holidays!  Come by to say Hi!  ( I took these in the evening through the glass so they are a little fuzzy)

This is what my front door looks like...........the subtle grey is soft and with a light glaze brushed on and fly specks ........some people haven't even noticed the change!

I posted a while back that I was doing a few things to the inside of the house to update and thought this was a good time to share a few photos of what I did...........I'm not good at before and after photos, these are just the after!

I made these pillows to update the sofa! Pillows can make a big difference and so easy to add a little touch of new to a room.........

And a new rug to pull it all together.......

You know with a little change here and there it makes a huge difference.......I am still looking for some new lamps for the table in the middle of this room.........

Well I hope you enjoyed the little tour of my updated living room and family room.  It's been years since I have done some decorating and it feels good........!

Sunday afternoon before the kids flew back to Colorado we stopped downtown OKC to this really fun store called PLENTY.........so fun and unique!( Infact the pedastal I used for the reception wedding cake came from this store.)   And of course these two had to try out the teeter totter! If you ever come to OKC you have got to go.  It's downtown on Broadway around 3rd!  You can't miss this one.

 

 

 

 

 

monday morning after another wedding celebration.............

The Mr. and Mrs. Cake topper is from the same gal I had Caryn's bouquet medallion from! ( lisa leonard designs)  The succulents I added instead of fresh flowers or candy flowers......as you can see we went all the way with a woodsey theme throughout the wedding....

This is the main table with just the cake and punch.......its a little pre celebration......the punch is not in the punch bowl, and the napkins are not arranged but you get the picture.....I wanted it to be simple! The centerpiece is real branches off my friend Susan's maple tree!  I wanted to use all real leaves and sicne we have had such a weird fall our leaves are slow coming in......so when she said she had one in her back yard on one side was turning I headed out with my clippers and went crazy!

and these jordan almonds........don't you just love these pale fall colors.......if you are lucky enough to have World Market in your town this is where you can find these......when I was on my girls trip to Santa Barbara last month I found these......and they are delicious!

I even found these wood grain looking napkins...

These are photos of the actual wedding..........I used a large old frame and lined it with wood grain scrapbook paper, jute to string them up with old looking clamps........

Instead of the grooms cake we did pumpkin pies, because that is Adam's favorite.  My mom made all of the pies.......the top layer of the cake was carrot( Caryn's favorite) second layer was chocolate and the bottom was vanilla!

And the food..........need I say more........it was incredible!

What a treat to have someone else do the food......you know I love to cook but I knew it would be to much for me with everything else..........I knew that my friend Lori Hall would do a fantastic job and she did........she is unbelievable and I knew we were in good hands......if you ever see a big food truck running around the Oklahoma City area that has a sign that says Hall's Pizza truck...STOP!!! Yes they have a pizza truck and the best pizza you have ever laid you lips on!  She is not only a fantastic cook she is the sweetest person.  ANd her sweet daughter Elise!  Thank you!

Can you see the celloist in the back right.......I wanted a little music and even though it got really loud in there with around 125-150 people it was nice to have a little background music!  Thanks Josh!

I am so disappointed in my photos of inside the house with people shots.....they are awful and I won't bore you with to many of them.  Hopefully the photographer and others who took photos will have some good ones........this one was before the guest arrive.  Adam, my brother, Caryn's step father Dennis and Adam's dad and my husband Tom! In time when I do get photos from others I will be posting those!

And my friends helped out.....Debbie, Susan, Jill and Jill's daughter Peyton!  Thank You!

............these kids flew back to Colorado yesterday to start their new lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Adam Peters.......we love you two!

countdown to christmas journal........

Oh Happy Wednesday......................

bittersweet...............

These vines with clusters of bright orange little berries are some of the most wonderful fall decorations you can add to your pumpkin arrangements.........though it is hard to find, when you do they will keep from year to year.........I love using them.......

These dried up gourds are some I have had for years and pull them out every fall....

Well there you have my only fall decorations I have out...........with the wedding reception I am keeping it low key this year, not like I am a big Fall Holiday decorating person........infact I don't decorate like I use to............I guess getting old I get lazier!

Thank You for all the front door advise..........I will take a photo after the painter does his job!  I will keep you all guessing to see what I decided to do!
