pitiful...........

This is the only decorating I have up in my house this year...............I know its pitiful!  This is our year for the kids to be else where and since I have already decorated trees at the book store and the front of Paper Crown I just decided I would chill out on the decorating..........my mom is having Christmas at her house and I am so glad.  I use to think older people who did not decorate were bah humbug but I understand now.......and it's OK!  I get it now!!!!!  So here you have the tree at the Peters house!

Christmas Bracelet Party...............

Girls night out Bracelet Christmas Party!  Last year after the holidays I stumbled upon a blog who had just hosted a girls night out bracelet party........ and I remember thinking I want to have one!  Since my house is not decorated this year I asked my friend Susan if we could have the party at her house, and of course she said yes!  We invited a few friends and had a wonderful time........!  We had dinner and then the bracelet exchange......how it works is like " Dirty Santa"!  You put a limit on how much you can spend on a bracelet!

Sparkling Cider greeted the guests!

The Menu was Lasagna, Vegetable Spinach Lasagne Roll ups, Salad, dinner rolls and Chocolate Creme Brulee...........Jill brought her famous decorated sugar cookies and Susan made her famous caramels!  To say the least we had plenty to eat and we were all stuffed when we left......

Here we all are styling our new bracelets!  So if you love jewelry like most women do, have a Bracelet Party and have fun..............!

I am all caught up............if you have started and feel a little overwhelmed just jot down each day on scratch paper so  you won't forget......... and then when you can  journal in your book!

This cute post card I picked up in one of the stores we visited this past weekend while visiting Eureka Springs..........it was an open house advertisement  for this book they were featuring!  LOVE IT!

Is she not a little cutie!  This past weekend we had a Christmas Weekend/ Business/Party in Tulsa and decided on saturday to make the 2 1/2 hour drive to Eureka Springs Arkansas.  A couple years ago we were through ES and found this darling store called Something Simple.........well we went back and this was waiting for me to bring home!  I loved it the minute I laid my eyes on her.  She is really big about 45x32................framless and I have not decided how to display her yet!

Let me tell you these girls finished in record time!  They were finished around 7:30!  Way to go girls!

What a fun way to end 2012 classes! Thank You to everyone who has taken one of my classes this year!  I will try to do " Looking back between Christmas and New Years"!

Now for a photo of the inside of the cake:

I thought I had a better photo of the inside.  It was a 3 layer red velvet cake with white polka dots and 7 minute frosting! The polk a dots were made with a cake pop pan. Bake them  let them cool and then place them randomly in your layer cake pans and pour the cake batter over and bake.  I will know next time how to place the white cake circles in the pans.  Every slice looked different! Kind of a fun experiment!  I can't believe the other photos did not turn out..........oh well!

saving memories....................funny!

This morning I was looking for my husbands birth certificate and while I was looking I stumbled across this envelope my mom gave me several years ago..........I opened it up and I am still laughing at these fun memories of growing up with 2 sisters............my older sister Patti and I always shared a bedroom and bathroom  ( we had two sinks in our bathroom and my younger sister always got left out so we had to share one of the sinks, and we always locked her out of the bathroom while we got ready, we were so mean)

Anyway I just wanted to share with you these funny signs we would leave each other either in the morning or at night!  Patti waitressed in the evening when she was in high school and got home late so I would leave her notes on the bathroom mirror or on the door to the bedroom

I think I was in Jr. High!

This was from Patti to my mom and I had to get my two cents in..........

after the beauty rest is what it said........

my spelling hasn't changed, look at daughter.....  ha ha.....imagine that!  some things never change.........

I was a dork and I know it!  I probably thought I was really funny..........my mom dated the back of it! I was 13 years old..........

I just thought you might get a kick out of these, because I did and forgot I even had them!

So when you find a note your kids have left you or their siblings, tuck it away and someday when they have a family of their own give them back to them!  Fun childhood memories..........

My mom even left us notes...........this one must of been on the bathroom mirror because our bathroom was always a disaster...........

Basic class kit

colored pencils

glue stick

glue pen

small scissors

distressed ink pads in ochre and spun sugar  ( if you don't have these I will have mine)

I think that covers it and I will see all you ladies on thursday at 5:30!
