My last class in 2012 was this 3 layer red velvet cake with 7 minute frosting.........and the polka dot surprise inside..

To end this food post this is what I made for our Christmas dinner at my Mom's house!  Of course my mom loves homemade rolls and then I decided to make something light and different for dessert, this pear tart.........I was surprised how light and delicious it was and everyone seemed to  really like it since it was so different from the heavy chocolate type Christmas dessert!

 One reason I decided to make this tart is I had a box of these......

Harry and David Pears...........these were and are the best pears I have ever laid my lips on!!!! So juicy and flavorful........

 can you see the vanilla bean paste seeds........oh my goodness!  I may have to share this recipe in another post.........All the other recipes I have shared on this blog....you can go back look!

Well I think I have covered it all........alot of calories were consumed this year and I am sorry but it sure was fun serving these to all of you!  I hope in 2013 I have some more fun/calorie filled goodies to share!

flowers of 2012.........

( I did not do this one..........this was at Cindy's wedding. I took a photo because I loved the way it looked on this big rectangle table! So simple.)

All of these hydrangeas came out of my yard this year...........we had a great year!

This gorgeous arrangements sat in the lobby of the Hotel (Bacara) in Santa Barbara......absolutely beautiful!

Okay by now you are probably getting tired of these photos..........maybe... but I never get tired of having fresh flowers around the house!  During the winter I don't have as many around as I do in the spring and summer..........there is nothing like going out in the yard and cutting your own!  I am so ready!

We all made Paper Dolls and the Queen of the Paper Doll industry came.....Catherine Moore of Character Construction!  How bout that!

This was Catherine's new line of stamps for 2012 called the Bee Keeper!  We had so much fun with them!

It was certainly a big class....... we all loved it and had fun having Catherine and Lana join us!

Then we had these 2 glove classes..........one was just a glove hanging and the other was a Glove turned into a book....

October and November I took a little time away from classes because of weddings/showers/glitter market!  It was definitely a full two months of non stop!  So in December I only had one class and we made 2 moveable tags!

To all of you who have taken on of my classes at the Paper Crown , a big huge " Thank You".... We have had alot of fun in 2012 and I hope 2013 is even better!

rag cuffs............

well the last few COLD winter evenings while watching TV and sitting by the warm fireplace I have been busy having fun sewing these little rag cuffs.........I had a denim belt that I cut into lengths for the cuff.......then I had some strips of silk, pieces of velvet, ribbon, trim and a few other pieces of scrap fabric I had.  I then sewed them randomly on the denim strips.......added a few little buttons, charms and whatever else I thought looked good....... I added the snaps and there you have a rag cuff!

here they are flattened out and all lined up..

So there you have it!  

I will probably be offering these around Valentine's Day.........I will let you all know!  I may even have a giveaway in the days ahead because I am just about to hit my 700th post!

Is this what you feel like the Day After Christmas...........I think we wore this little guy out!  My niece and her husband and this little guy flew in from Seattle on Christmas Eve!  We had fun with him and I have a few more photos.......(he is 4 months old and  his name is Varga)

Looks like Oklahoma will look like this tomorrow!  The weather men are predicting a White Christmas for the state!  I know most people LOVE the snow and especially little ones, so I guess it will be a wonderful Christmas..........whatever your plans for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day stay safe and bless you all from my house to yours!

tags and wrapping..........

I love making tags out of bits and pieces and adding a cute little people to them.......

My wrapping is out of just ordinary brown craft paper I buy in a roll and then I buy some kind of holiday ribbon at Sam's in the big 50/100 yard roll..........and add a fun tag I have made.......I made some more moveable tags to add with the little kids names......

It's not real elaborate or fussy........just simple!  

The gift below came with a cute box and then I added the bow and the tag..........I crossed the name off just in case someone was peeking...........!

Well this just sums up my Chrismtas wrapping this year...........I still have a couple more gifts and I hope you are enjoying your weekend wrapping ,baking, shopping, party going or whatever Christmas stuff you have going on...........ENJOY!
