Last night I took Bobbie's amazing ANGEL Wings class! We all had a wonderful time! Bobbie and her sweet husband went beyond all to make this class happen, and to know those sweet deserving children who will benefit from their labor of love!  Bobbie did not charge for this class........instead we were to bring childrens toys for the Christmas Toys for Tots!  Bobbie you are a blessing to all!  Thank You for your sweet and tender heart to help these children .............Merry Christmas!

embroidery............

Well today I hit the jackpot!  My friend Jill asked me if I wanted these hand embroidered quilt squares?  Well what do you think my reply was...........of course!  There are 25 of these flower embroidery quilt squares, each a different flower.........her Grandmother did these back around 50 years ago, they are in perfect condition and the back looks as perfect as the front!  This lady really knew how to embroider!  I don't know what I will do with them but I will try and figure out something!  For now I am just looking and admiring them!

good morning..............

Thanksgiving evening I gathered up the jars of flowers put them on my island.............it looked so neat with the light shining down, I decided to photograph it......today they are a little sad and about ready to trash!  You know by now how much I love fresh flowers!

I have a  delicious recipe to share with you today on this monday morning after Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin Streusel Muffins

2 1/2 cups flour

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

4 tbls. butter melted/cooled

1/4 cup oil

1/2 cup buttermilk

2 TB. cinnamon

2 tsp. ginger

1 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. cloves

1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree

Mix sugar and egg for 1 min. Drizzle in melted/cooled butter.  Add oil and buttermilk.  Add spices and add pumpkin.  Add to the rest of the dry ingredients.  Mix just until all blended. DO NOT OVERMIX>

Pour into muffin tins lined with paper liners.  ( I used the new hardcard board liners that you don't even need to use the muffin tin)

Struesel Topping

1 cup pecans

1/2 cup flour

1/3 cup btown sugar

3 TB. sugar

4 TB. melted butter

Sprinkle topping on top of the muffins.  Bake at 375 for 30 min.  Depending on your oven it may take a little longer.  I even put a sheet of foil on top after 20 min. so the struesel topping would not burn.

THese are best when they are completely cooled with a cup of strong black coffee!  I hope you decided to make these delicious muffins.............they are so good!

Probably by now you all have done a little Christmas shopping...........in case you are still in need of those hard to buy gifts the Paper Crown is the place! Did you know you can buy Gift Certificates?  Or possibly you might hint around to your family the Paper Crown is a one stop shop!  Just a little help from one of the Paper Crown elves..........me!

Wow Wow Wow can you believe the days are just flying by.........now that Thanksgiving is over and early over, we still have another week of November!  I have some Bad News and some Good News!  The bad news is our son and his girlfriend were to arrive from Denver on wednesday evening for the holiday.......well they never showed up...........come to find out they had made reservations from OKC TO DENVER and not DENVER TO OKC............but the good news is we have a wedding in the future......September 28 Adam is marrying his girlfriend Caryn after 4 years!  THey called wednesday evening around 6:00 to tell us about the mix up on the reservations.....they were sick becasue they wanted to surprise us when they arrived here with her ring and announce their engagement!  Oh well that's life!  We are so excited and looking forward to having a daughter in law!   I don't have any photos of the happy couple but hopefully I will soon!

 

I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday and are full and taking it easy today!  I am!!!!!

 

 

are you ready for thanksgiving day??????????

I have 3 tables set with 10-11 per table.  The formal dining room table is for the OLDer Adults!  Very simple and real fallish looking!  

The kitchen table is decorated  Mackenzie Child like.  Black and white check, bright flowers and some goblets I painted about 15 years ago to look like Mackenzie Child, and a fraction of the real ones!  This table does not really look to Thanksgivingish but I thought the black and white dishes with the Roosters came close enough!  This table is set for the YOUNG adults.........

Then you have the KIDS table...........all paper and plastic. For the tablecloth I used brown kraft paper so the kids can draw all over the table when they get board, along with candy......oh my!

I think I am now ready and our son and his girlfriend arrive late tonight!

I have decided to teach 1 last class before the new year...........On thursday night December 6 I will be teaching 2 Moveable Paper Doll tags..........one is the first photo of the china head doll with a button card as her body and the other will be of the Santa above.....should be a fun, easy and fast class.  So if your in the need for a couple of cute tags to adorn a Christmas gift or tree get to the Paper Crown on December 6..........call the store to reserve your spot today.....405-848-2389....ho ho ho

It seems like I always frost and decorate cookies for little boys or other types of events..........well today  it was all about  pink with hearts, ducks, elephants , bottles and flowers!  One of my students is hosting a baby shower and needed some sweet little cookies............of course you know me I LOVE to bake and decorate.........

Okay you get the idea I had fun with the pink.......
