little dress banner class...............

I have a few spots left for this sweet dress banner class.........the class is this Thursday April 5- 5:30-9:00...call the Paper Crown 405-848-2389 to reserve you spot!

This little banner would be cute in any little girls room or nursery...........you could use it for a birthday party, studio room or in a classroom...........so come and join the fun!

Do you ever receive a gift in a box and the box is to pretty to throw away..........well I had a stack of these and thought I would do a little decorating on them........ now when I get ready to give a gift I will just slip the gift inside...............

these old flowers came from an estate sale.............a shoe box full of wonderful flowers!

my photos are not so good this morning!  I think these worn out eyes are playing tricks on me.....I could not get them focused.........maybe I need a vacation from taking pictures............or maybe it's just these OLD eyes!!!  The box above is from the Banana Republic Black Walnut mens cologne......it is really nice solid wood with velvet inside. ( my husband smells really wonderful)   I wrapped script tape around the bottom to cover up the name and then the little furry pin on top!

these two photos above is one of those decorative boxes of matches..........the matches are gone but I think a gift card will fit perfectly!

Well I think I am going to take a little break over the weekend and not do a whole lot of photo taking.  My camera and my eyes are worn out from a week or two of going strong..............so I will leave you with these and will be back next week.

After the shower I decided to use  the center piece ( the chair) for my Easter dining room table. I am sure these flowers won't last until next weekend, but for now I added a little Easter!

Remember this cute piece of art by Colette Copeland..........a children size rusted rake holds the piece!

I have two more pieces coming I bought from Colette and she is bringing those when she comes to the Paper Crown in May! (I will show photos when I get them) Don't forget to call the store to reserve your spot for Colette's awesome classes!

This sweet piece I bought from Lynne Whipple a couple years ago in Omaha at Silver Bella!  I knew when I bought this from Lynne and Colette that they would have a special place in this guest room!

these two photos above are in the small guest bathroom.........it is really hard to get a photo in there!

I did not take pictures of before and I should of........I was so ready to get rid of the sage green walls that I forgot!  The new color on the walls is a Sherwin Williams color called Anew Gray!  The bedding is from Matteo and  the furniture is all old oak furniture that I painted several years ago, and did a little distress sanding..........I hope you enjoyed this little tour and when I finish with a few more things I am looking for I will take photos.  I am looking for a little over stuffed chair, a floor lamp and maybe a rug or two.  But for now I am leaving it the way it is.........

fun weekend.................

This weekend we helped celebrate the  "Paper Crown Queen"  Miss Cindy with a wedding shower! The photo above is Cindy in the middle with Hutton on the left, ( Austin the grooms daughter) and Katie on the right ( Cindy's daughter)........they are all just as sweet as they look!

 

I made a guest book with photos of Cindy and friends who have taken classes at the Paper Crown, along  with events we have attended together . I will fill in with photos of the shower.  I left spaces for them to write messages to the bride and groom!

I thought I had a better photo of the banner when you walked up to the front of the house.  The banner spells out Austin and Cindy............sorry!

As each guest left they received a wedding cake cookie with the "special date" tag!

 

I took more photos and I may post later with the punch recipe and more...........but that is it for this monday morning!

spring in oklahoma..........

FORSYTHIA...........you know it's spring when you first see these beautiful yellow tiny flowers all around!  One of my most favorite spring plants!  I love cutting these and enjoying them indoors and to see them in the outdoors.........oh spring days! ( Thanks Susan for letting me cut these from your yard)

The Soldering Queen is coming to the Paper Crown...............

THe oh so talented Heather Ales will be teaching two wonderful classes this weekend.  For those of you who have always wanted to learn how to solder.........this is your chance!  There is not another teacher around that is as talented as Heather!

The other class she will be teaching for the first time is this Santos Doll.  This will be broken up into a two day class.

 

The Santos Doll will be on Friday March 23 from 4-7 and will continue on Saturday March 24 from 3-6!

 

The Memory Box will be on Saturday March 24 from 11:00-2:00.

These gals did a wonderful job putting together their " Little Black Dress" books!  They all finished and will add their photos later!

Turquoise Frogs????????????  I made these for a little boy baby shower and turquoise was the color!

I had a few extra frogs so I made those for my class tonight! And since tonight's class is " Little Black Dress", I needed dress cookies..........the black frosting would of shown up on the girls teeth so I decided to decorate them green with black collars and dots..........no one wants black teeth, and since St. Patricks Day is just a few days away I thought green dresses was perfect!

 

Recipe for the first photo cookies.......to die for Easy Peanut Butter No Bake............

3/4 cup Karo 

3/4 cup white sugar

1 stick butter

Boil for 1 1/2 minutes in saucepan over medium high

Add:

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 tsp. vanilla paste

Mix until it is all blended together.  Then add 5 cups of Special K cereal.  Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper..........

My friend Susan gave me this recipe.  If you don't bake but would like to take some cookies to the office or an event, you will be a hit with these.........I promise they are sooooooooooooo good!

Girls in class tonight will get to try these out!

My days this week have been full of baking for a few events coming up and my freezer is full of cookies!
