It's always fun to go on vacation, but I always look forward to being back home! What is it..........? Anyway we had a great time and this photo is taken in Avila Beach , California!
Those of you who know me know that I would love to have an old woodie. What better place to see several than the town I was raised in......San Luis Obispo. This one needs a little restoration but I just had to take a pic.
Then we spotted another one........
And another..........this one was in Santa Barbara in the little town down the road Montecito....it was in the evening so the photo isn't that great.......(Texas license?)
Well that is all I will say about the cars.............I know I am crazy but they are one of the most unique vehicles ever made, at least in my eyes! I remember growing up seeing these and always being attracted to them. One of my best friends brothers had one and always had their surfboards on top. Is that not a typical California picture.
THen I came across a blog called Ruby Rose...........when I found out it was in SLO I knew the next time we were on vacation I had to visit. I am so glad I stumbled upon this really sweet, fun vintage store. They are only open thursday-saturday.......I will show you later what I bought! The owner was so nice and so into recycled and old vintage items.
If you are ever in the area and want to step back in time you need to stop in and visit Ruby Rose in San Luis Obispo you won't be disappointed.

Oh ~ one day I am definitely going to have a beach house! I love Oklahoma but I so miss the shoreline.

Swoon...I'd love to have a cool woodie as well. Such an awesome vehicle and these are in great shape! That store looks lovely as well!!

Hi Jackie- Thank you for sharing the pictures of the old Woodies...I love them too! I have always wanted to have one someday...Along with a restored vintage airstream travel trailer!
