front cover:
The front cover I used Catherine Moore's Ledger paper from one of her lines of paper......... Tim Holtz metal corners on the picture............. Old vintage velvet flower and applique..........to bind the book I used my zutter.
This was so much fun to make because this couple waited so long to have this miracle baby! Thank You for taking the time out to look at this Beautiful Baby and His Mom.
I am off now to take them out to lunch and celebrate her birthday and open this surprise album!

Don't these just make you mouth water............
On Wednesdays I head to my friends doll studio and work on my porcelain dolls. This friend also has a cherry tree and garden. Today when I got ready to leave she told me to start pickin........ I can't wait to clean them and PIT (Ugh) them. But who cares it will make the most delicious pie and I think I will make preserves. This is another reason I LOVE SUMMER!
Then when I got home this box was waiting for me. My dear friend Catherine Moore sent me a box of goodies..........I got so excited and wanted to start making stuff right away, but the cherrie pie needs to be made first...... so the sea shells and sand will have to wait............. all the sea ephemera may become a class. Who knows...........wait and see!
I'll let you all know how the pie turns out............I am so mean!

I am a little embarrassed to tell you that my dining room table has been without a centerpiece since Easter! It's been driving me crazy............so this morning I decided since my hydrangeas are absolutely beautiful I needed to cut a few and bring them in to enjoy.............. and in minutes this is what I came up with! The clear jars are from candles that I have burned and cleaned up. They work great for flower vases.
Any time I show you flowers I always say they are my favorite............ well I love hydrangeas! Let's just say they are ONE of my favorites. I guess I love flowers.
Go outside today and look around your yard and cut something fresh and bring in to enjoy!
Happy Sunday afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!

Several of you have asked for the Cake recipe and here it is:
Chocolate Carrot Cake
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups oil
4 carrots grated
frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese
1 cube butter
2 tsp vanilla bean paste
2 cups powdered sugar
chocolate glaze:
1/2 cup chocolate chips ( I used semi sweet)
3 oz. bittersweet chocolate
6 tb. cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla bean paste
1 cup powdered sugar
Heat oven 350. Grease and flour bundt pan.
cake:
Mix flour, sugar, soda, b. powder, salt, cocoa and set aside. Beat eggs and oil until well mixed. Add flour mixture until well blended. Stir in carrots. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 50-60 min. or until done. Cool and then frost.
frosting:
Cream the cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add the sugar slowly and mix until smooth and then add the vanilla. Frost the cake and set in refrigerator until firm and then take out and pour the chocolate glaze on top.
glaze:
In saucepan add the chocolate, cream, and vanilla. Whisk over medium heat until mixture is melted and smooth- then gradually whisk the powdered sugar in. Let it cool for a couple minutes and then take cake out of refrigerator and pour the chocolate glaze over the top.
I found this recipe on Scissor Variations blog.
I am not a big chocolate cake lover but this cake is really good. I hope you try it, you won't be sorry.
Happy Saturday Baking!

Let me just start by saying I feel so lucky and blessed to have the most artistic, sweet, caring and thoughtful students ever. I love teaching and this is the reason why.............
Bravo to each of you for doing a superb job! Look at each and everyone of their finished works of art. I hope they had as much fun as I did teaching this project.
Every class I have taught at the Paper Crown has been awesome. I have met so many amazing gals and sweet friendships have developed over time. So today I just wanted to say Thank You. If you have ever taken a class I have taught over time and you know who you are THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
You all inspire me and I hope to always try and find interesting projects to share and teach.
A few more pictures from last nights class.........
Let me explain: The canvas technique had so many layers of decoupage and paint that we needed to day in between each layer, so Renee rigged up this drying technique with her heat gun so she could multi task..........EAT and work at the same time. Brilliant Renee!
Concentrate Franc.........ha ha!
working an eating is a great combination............
Brenda really only had 1 piece of a cake......( Sorry Brenda I couldn't resist)
We do work and not just eat cake all night long. ( this was the first time I have taken a cake........I usually take cookies or cupcakes because it is easier to eat while you are working, but tonight I changed it up a bit. This is why you see everyone with a fork in their mouth.)
Oh Donna you are so funny! Your canvas is a little upside down but it looks awesome! Great Job.
I hope you have enjoyed a little glimpse into the class room.
Enjoy your weekend!
(If this post shows up twice I am sorry. I have had computer problems)
