it' been way to long.........

 A couple summers back I did the Willa Wanders Fodder Challenge and learned so many new things........... when she offeredthis challege again this fall I though why not.....I always love how many different teachers she gets to share their talents and step by step the process to make these challenges addicting and so much fun....this mushroom class with water colors was taught by Tracey Wozniak........of course I love watercolor........she is an excellent teacher......I think you can still sign up for this challenge...just go to Willa Wanders website and check it out.....I have not done the other classes yet but hope to catch up soon.....

another project I am hoping to finish up in the next couple of nights is this darling farmgirl embroidery from the talented Noodle & Lou Jenn McGlonn.....

I LOVE working on these big girls.......this one has been fun because I used the new embroidery Mosaic stitch on her straw hat and basket......I did a blog post about it a while back.... this stitch is something you learn by your mistakes..... I have made many but I have figured one thing out...... variegated yard looks so much better than plain color yarn or thread.....when I finish I will share the entire block.....

  

 

Another thing is I am working on some more bucket bags and making a few different sizes this time and a smaller one for little girls...when I get them finished I will share photos plus I will be taking these to our Church Christmas Market comine up on saturday Nov. 16 !   More about the time and place later....but for now this is what I have been working on.....

mosaic embroidery.........

Last weeek I stumbled across something I had never seen or heard of before and like always I text my friend Jenn ( Noodle & Lou) to see if she had and of course she had....well she sent me some information on the lady who started this and I was so excited that I ordered her book and some needles....she has some videos you can watch and see her process....so I wanted to get a head start before I got the book in the mail and just winged it...of course it is so different from hers but you get the idea....if you are interested her book is " Tiny Friends"...her name is Tomomi Mimura.......if you like to experiment with embroidery go check her out and see how talented this lady is......I just got the book today and anxious to read and learn the proper way to do this and to use the correct needles , thread and fabric.....I just used something I had that was close to what she uses....

It feels like Fall here in Oklahoma today.....rainy and cooler temps finally........

I finished a few more bucket bags over the weekend to send down to Waco for the weekend Glitter Market..........

 

Below are a few thing I have wanted to do since last year but never did ........here are a few that I may send down or have them at our Church Christmas arket in November.....they are really fun and the big one in the back is one of my many many quilted sacred hearts I did years ago and have never done any thing with them so I thought maybe this would be fun.....

weekend finishing up........

Each bucket bag is lined with 2 inside pockets...........I only have 1 of the smaller bags with Halloween theme and 1 Christmas bag... the other 3 fabric bags are all different.....so all in all I have 10 bucket bags , 5 large quilted patched bags and 5 of the others all will be shipped to Waco along with a few more fold over bags, some more of the silk rag bracelets, paper buttons and a few odds and ends......so sorry I can't be there to see all of you but I know you will all have a great time.....Cindy always has the best vendors along with her generous and gracious hospitality to go along with it.........Happy Fall litter Market to all............ more on bucket bags.........

It takes a while to get all of these quilted bits of quilts to look like it flows.....kind of like a jigsaw puzzle but a little more whimsical...........a lot of hand stitching goes into these but it's so much fun to see what you can come up with to make  them  look different and unique.........the 3rd photo I decided to add my salvation army punch needle gal and going with a blue theme....I think I have a couple salvation army red cross buttons I will add at the end....

 

these bucket bags below are some of my favorite fabric designs by J Wrecker Frisch........if you have followed my blog you know I have loved all of her fabric....on these I have used different lines of hers to make it all go together.....these are a little bit smaller than the quilted bucket bags but all of them have pockets inside......

inside bag.......

I completely forgot to show you the inside of my bucket bag........I love the fabric for the lining and pockets........

quilted/bucket/bag..............

This little project I started last year........I would just pick it up whenever I needed something that did not require brain power....... started with just several scrap pieces of quilts that I had left over from other projects...I started to stitch them together overlapping and adding different embroidery stitches..... then added some EPP that I had made and some yo yos.......some cute labels, felt hearts and a few other little things to add to the texture and charm.... it kept getting larger and larger and I didn't quite know what to do with it so I stopped and tried to square it up to even the bottom and sides ..........then decided to make a big ole bucket bag.......it was super easy to make and for the lining I added some of my favorite fabric plus I made a couple of deep pockets inside the lining so everything would not fall to the bottom....added a little whimsey with the straps to brighten it up a little........

 

I will tell you a little secret......I am hoping to make a few more for the upcoming Glitter Market in Waco...I won''t be ale to make it but if you will stop by Jenn's ( Noodle and Lou) booth she will have a few of my things....this bucket is mine but hopefully I can get with it and make a few more....they won't be as detailed as this one but it will look like it hopefully.......

51 years..

Over the weekend we celebrated our 51 wedding anniversary........wow! How does that happen............

journaling............

Well we all need a little peace and happiness these days......anyway over the weekend I wanted to do a little journaling with some of these new little faces.....they are so funny and cute that I knew I would have fun so here are a few pages.....

If you know me by now you know how much I love to make journals.......fun fun fun.....no right or wrong way to make them......no brain power is used...just cut , paste, staple, tie or whatever you like to do to make it unique..its all good and fun........
