Check it out.......this will be the 3rd project we will be creating this year......Jenn McGlon of Noodle and Lou will be teaching this and will be her first year to join us for Glitter Retreat ........we are so excited she accepted!!!!! Is this not the cutest ever....... You all will love her and her many many talents........
I was going for a red rose on the back side of the cover ........ just was playing around with getting several shades of dark reds and darker deep pinks to get a contrast of the velvet and felt together..........the more you play around with the two fabrics the more combinations of things you can do with it........sending each of you a red rose today!!!!
Well here she is.....my Project for this years Glitter Retreat 2017!
Hope you all are as excited as we are to our sold out retreat this year.....Cindy has always gone above and beyond to make this a really special weekend at the Paper Crown! You girls are in for another spectacular Retreat.......see you in a few weeks.
This is Angie's project below......because of some health issues Jenn hasn't been able to work on her project but knowing how talented she is we know it will be awesome as usual....so as soon as we get a photo Cindy and I will post.......but for now we just thought you would like to see the other two....
Angie has spared nothing with her fabulous Crown with old millenary flowers........you all will love it and those who are always asking about making a Crown well here it is !!!!! In the photo you really can't tell how beautiful it really is......if you live close and want to see the samples for a better look stop by the store........plus Cindy has received so many new products the last week or so you are in for a treat!
With 3 sisters growing up our mom would make all our dresses........if it was checked one would get the pink check, the other blue check, and so on and so on.......whether it was check, polka dot, swiss dot we each had the same fabric but in a different color! So when I was cutting these out it reminded me of all those cute little dresses!
Last summer when I cleaned my room I usually put things in a place that I don't remember where I put them........and if I just don't let it eat at me I usually come across it when I am looking for something else......I have had these red cross little pins for a couple years and wanted to use them last summer but could not find them, until today when I was looking for something for our upcoming Glitter Retreat and found that tooooooooo.......if I don't go into panic mode I know I will find it sooner or later.......do any of you do that? So maybe now I can incorporate them in one of my upcoming classes!( I also came across all these other things in the same box but these won't be in a class just for my personal use! Oh Happy Day!!!!
Well you can see the stitching from last weekends Stephanie class has continued......I have used up scraps of velvet and felt to make a few little flower and heart appliques to go on whatever! I don't have a clue right now what I will use them for but one of these days it will hit me but for now I am stitching away with all those little bits of scraps that usually go into the trash!

Apricot Bars ( Pioneer Women recipe)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups oats
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 sticks butter cut into pieces
1 jar apricot preserves or if you can't find I used the Smuckers Simply fruit
Mix together all ingredients but the preserves, I used my fingers to break up the butter with all the dry ingredients. Press one half the mixture into a 8x8 greased pyrex pan. Then spread the entire jar of Apricot on top of the first layer and then sprinkle remaining mixture on top and pat this down. Bake at 350 for 30-40 min. Let completely cool before cutting.....I think if you wanted to use any kind of preserves it would work .........
of course this was my breakfast, it has oats and fruit in it!!!!
For those of you in this class thursday evening March 23 this is your supply list:
crop a dile
gold leaf pen
distressed ink in spun sugar or whatever color you like to distress
basic class kit
if you are using this as a past memory Easter photo book bring your photos
of course any Easter paper, ephemera bring those for you to add
I think that is it.......see you all at 5:30 thursday!
I did get my rope enclosure finished but I don't think it's the right way but I went with it , tied it around instead of sewing it down because I wanted to be able and see the Cowgirl on the front and she is right in the middle..........fabric journaling is so addicting and something you can take along wherever you go!
