Remember the Caramels I shared in another post..........well I have another one for you! If you like HOT Cinnamon flavored candy you will love this recipe! Just in time for Valentine's Day!
Recipe:
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light Karo syrup
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 cubes unsalted sweet butter
2 tsp. cinnamon oil
1 1/2 tsp. red food coloring ( no flavor)
Bring all these ingredients except for the cinnamon oil and red food coloring to 240 degrees in heavy saucepan. After it has come to this temp. take off stove top and add the cinnamon and red food color. Pour into a well buttered 13x9 pan. Let it set to room temp. then place in refrigerator until set! A couple hours. Take out and let set at room temp for 5-10 minutes before cutting into pieces. Cut in desired pieces and wrap in wax or parchment paper. They are really good and for something a little different this year instead of chocolate...........
this is what it looks like while it is coming up to 240 degrees............
after it is taken off the stove top......then the oil and color is added..........
pour into the buttered 13x9 pan
it tipped while it was in the refr. and slid to one side and got these wrinkles so make sure it is level.........it still taste the same!
cut into pieces and wrap...............
have a great sunday afternoon!

Clearly you are on a one woman mission to expand my waistline. Ah-hem. :) I'm going to have to give this one a shot. I hear that cinnamon helps get rid of nausea. :) XOXO
