It's been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOng week..................

Well guess what happened to me yesterday................I turned this OLD glitter I found at an estate sale all over..............I rescued some of it but I was so mad and what a big fat mess.  Thought you'd like to see how my studio/ room looks like when I have to much on the floor.  I put piles of supplies on the floor for my up coming classes .

 

 

Spool Class

This is the other "Easter Bonnet Spool"  we will be making in class on Thursday April 7.

This is a picture of the spools together.  We will be wrapping the one spool with old seed packets and the other with the new Cavallini paper.

If the weather cooperates over the weekend I will have all these new samples up at the Paper Crown so you can decide which class you want to take. 

I hope you all out there have had a wonderful snowy cold week like we have had here in Oklahoma. One good thing about being snowed in, you have the time to play in your room and make some art.

Kindred Spirit Quote Book..............

Here is the file folder mystery class on February 24..................Since I am calling this a mystery class you will only be able to see the outside and not the contents of the inside.  It is tied up so no cheating when you stop by the Paper Crown to see the sample.  I will tell you this that it can also be called a little Quote book.  I have compiled some of my favorite quotes for each page inside.  We will be tearing, stapling, wadding,  using walnut ink, watercolors, acrylic paint,glimmer misting and just plain getting our hands dirty.  ( So don't  get a manicure before this class)  I don't know if you can see the little piece of wood on the front cover but each person gets a piece of this wonderful wooden fan that I took apart.  If you look close it has handwritten signatures on them. Patina fun................

I have been experimenting the last couple days.  The gold heart was shiny gold yesterday, and today it looks like this.

Tips:

I wanted fast results so I dipped mine in the solution and let it set for 30 minutes and then took it out to dry and then did it several more times that same day.  And it happened quicker than I thought.

snow snow and more snow

looking out the front door...........can you believe last week it was 70 degrees.

looking out the kitchen window....my husband always makes sure the birds are fed in the front and back yard.  And they loved him yesterday.......

Those of you who live in the warmer climate, ENJOY your day!  We won't be getting above freezing!

 

Yesterday I pulled out a couple of lens for my camera and took some random shots.  Thought you might like to see one of them.  ( I need to take a photography class and learn more about what my camera can really do)

I will leave you with this sweet picture of our son when he was around 13 with his dog and horse! He is all grown up now and still has the horse but not the dog.  He has Sam. (The saddle on the horse was my dad's.  When my dad was 15-16 he made enough money to have this saddle made.  He passed it down to our son.  And maybe one day he will pass it down to his children.)
