The sun was shining saturday morning and this group was ready for another fun filled day...........they started out the day with breakfast of Yogurt, fruit, granola, juice, and our own Angie made blueberrie muffins and scones........this got everyone ready for Medeah's crown class........
Angie painted these small flower canvas's with a palette knife and set each of them on gold easels............they were placed at each place setting for everyone to take home!
Our little Paris Cafe setting was made by Cindy's handy man husband Austin.........we used the life size Paper Dolls from our first meal in the chairs.......they look awesome!
What would a Paris Flea Market be without Baskets..........each attendee went away with one FULL of goodies.........I mean FULL of goodies! After a wonderful lunch prepared by Cindy once again of Croissant Chicken Salad , fruit, chips and creme brulee they all headed downstairs for their final class and a few surprises........I also forgot to mention that throughout the weekend their were many different swaps and I have to apologize for not having photos.......I hope Medeah has some and CIndy will probably have those on the Paper Crown blog. I know they went all out on the swaps, amazing works of art!
The last class was the Deconstructed Paris Journal.......
A journal they will be able to use for memories of this past weekend or maybe a family trip.........whatever they decide it will be full of wonderful memories.
A Special Treat..........
A couple summers ago we were introduced to Greg Stewart from LA who loves Catherine's stamps. Greg came to one of our weekend classes and promised us he would be back......when he found out Catherine was our guest teacher this year for our Retreat he didn't hesitate to sign up and we were so glad he did. Now that he has retired from 32 years with Gucci he will have more time to create and attend more of these kind of classes. While his visit that summer he was telling us all about Temari. An art form from Japan. So Cindy asked him if he would like to share with us. He gave us the history and a demonstration on how he starts and the final balls.....absolutely amazing and beautiful!
Thanks Greg for sharing one of your many talents..............I told Greg if he teaches this when he returns I will supply the cupcakes and refreshments. You have to be a perfectionist and mathematic minded, I am neither of those but will love to watch! I know everyone enjoyed this special treat!
Some photos I thought you might like looking at without any comments.....some are blurry and random
My two new California friends who DROVE all the way from Modesto California for this retreat..........wow! Please let Cindy or I know if you all arrived home safe! Thank You for making us feel special enough for you all to drive that far for this retreat!!!!!
I think that is it ......... I know some more photos will be coming in. You can go to the Paper Crown blog to check them out..........Thank You once again for all who traveled far and near to make this one of the best Retreats so far...........Like I have said time and time again we have the some of the nicest people who step through the doors at the PC.........We hope to see all of you next year! Thank You Thank You Thank You from the Paper Crown team..............I hope to have a photo of all the teachers , Cindy and Amy! You all would of died laughing if you could of seen us trying to get the 6 of us with the camera on the tripod and timer to go off to take the last photo of the day...........I won't tell you how many times we tried! It was a great way to laugh and end the day!
I always hate to cancel a class but with this past weekend we have decided to change the date of the Wardrobe Paper Doll class to May 17th!!!!!
Happy tuesday...........I need to go unpack!
