Basic class kit
GOLD LEAF PEN ( Cindy has these if you don't have one)
(And remember I will always have these supplies if you don't, but it's so much easier if you have your own and you will need them in the future if you continue to make any of these!)
This will be a fun class using Sandra Evertson's Relics and Artifacts products. We will be learning a couple different ways to paint and use the beautiful velvets that will be glued onto these hearts! If you have any questions please feel free to call the store 405-848-3489! Thank You all who came to the Paper Crown last evening for our kick off 2015 Mix and Mingle......What a great time to visit, shop, eat and learn a new project! Not to mention you all who sang Happy Birthday and the delicious dessert Cindy made to celebrate my Birthday! I had no idea what she was up to.... Thanks girls for the Happy surprise! Sorry for no photos! I forgot to take my camera.......
Tonight will be the first of our Summer 2015 Mix and Mingle..........come on by from 6-8 to see and catch up on all the new classes for the month of July, new products, all of the new ribbon from Italy, a little make and take from your favorite washi tape and some refreshments, not to mention a discount on your entire purchase! What a great way to spend a monday evening with fellow creative friends and to get out of the heat.........see you all tonight!
I have an addiction to donuts and coffee.........we were raised on donuts and I LOVE them to this day! Back in April I decided I needed to back off so I told myself that for the month of May I would give up donuts for a month........and I did!!!! Believe it or not I did and I wasn't tempted ......I then wanted to see if I could do it for two months.........since June is my birthday month I wanted to celebrate my birthday , with a donut!!!!So today was the day and my husband had donuts and coffee waiting for me when I got up, AND IT TASTED SO GOOD! Two months without donuts for me is a big deal and I did it! LEt's just see if I can hold off and try a little harder not to get back to my old habits!
And with Adam being home over the weekend he had this awesome cookbook waiting for me when I returned home from market..............Three Sisters Bake! Isn't it a coincidence since I have 3 sisters! I can't wait to dig in and bake something........
This week was the Dallas Gift Market and I just got back last night......I found a few treasures! Many of them I will be using for classes and for my GM goodies....
Lots of religious jewelry, rosary beads.............I found this old charm bracelet that has the 10 commandments engraved on each charm........
Check out this celluloid photo album.......it is in great condition and the velvet binding and latch is beautiful.......
inside the pages are not really damaged to much like usual in these old albums..
these embossed corners are beautiful...
And this small prayer celluloid book is so sweet........it's a little tattered but really beautiful and the pages inside are altogether! There is a part of market called cash and carry and a new venue they started a few years back called vintage and so many great vendors with antiques......two particular ones I really like , one is from Michigan and the other from New Jersey!
I also picked up a bag of wonderful beads for more bracelets.........!
Now I need to rest my feet, they are a little worn out and I need to catch my breath!
I will be back to regular blogging next week and hopefully have a few things to show you all.......and remember Monday night at the Paper Crown it's our first summer Mix and Mingle! Check out the Paper Crown blog for more information!
Hope you all enjoyed your Father's Day weekend! Of course we did since our son was here! I want to point out this kids t-shirt.......it's the Colorado flag with the Oklahoma seal in the middle of the C.....I guess you can say you can't take the okie out of the now Colorado Kid!!!!
And you never know what these two are up to.......especially the one in the red! Thanks Maria for coming all the way from Georgia to take Krystal's Calligraphy class tuesday night and last nights class! Suzy what can I say.....it's always a treat to have you in class, you keep us all laughing and listening to all your stories! Sissy it's been way to long since we have had you in class, thanks for returning. Cathy is always so quiet and we love having her. Linda we enjoyed meeting your mom, I hope we didn't get to loud! It was a great class and we missed Beth once again! Hope she gets to come home today from her stay in the hospital........
Happy friday and enjoy this wonderful Father's Day weekend.........( our son will be with us, we haven't seen him since Thanksgiving)
A few years back I decided to make Alisa Burkes rope baskets..... she has great instructions and so I made some.....they were so much fun and really easy to make. And a while back on her blog she gave more great ideas on how to do the same technique as the baskets and turn them into totes.....and I gave it a try too..........I dyed the rope with glimmer mist and the Heidi Swap mists.....they worked awesome and I love all the colors mixed. You then let them dry......get the sewing machine out and get with it. It is a little more difficult because of the size of the tote but you can manipulate it around to get the desired size you will need. After it was finished I decided to make my own handles and this is how it turned out! I would like to make a few more!
For those of you in this class thursday evening June 18th you will need to bring your basic class kit, along with your glue gun, your favorite distress ink pad, sand paper, colored pencils or a red alcohol ink pen to color her dress and gold leaf pen! Other than that everything else will be included....We do have a few spots left if you are interested. Call the store to reserve your spot! See all you girls thursday night!
